Purpose<\/p>\n
\tThe primary purpose of the role is to support Portfolio Managers in Cape Town to manage client investment portfolios by taking the client\u2019s specific situation, the agreed mandate and the investment team\u2019s views and preferred vehicles into account. The portfolio analyst will have a close working relationship with the Investment team.<\/p>\n
Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure proper take-on of new clients, collecting FICA and liaising with client service team
\n\tConducts suitability assessment of clients and analysis of client affairs (fact find)
\n\tPrepare new client reviews and proposals
\n\tPrepare and oversee client implementation plans
\n\tMaintain and update client lists, provide tax statements when requested and calculate expected CGT
\n\tPrepare cash flow forecasts using expected investment returns and cash needs
\n\tOngoing monitoring of client portfolios – preparing trade recommendations and rebalancing of portfolios when necessary
\n\tAttend client meetings, prepare meeting packs, notes and minutes
\n\tPrepare feedback to general client queries and ad hoc investment analysis requests
\n\tCheck monthly and quarterly reports and liaise with reporting team on requirements
\n\tReconcile and audit client reports
\n\tPrepare quarterly commentary on client portfolios
\n\tAssist with any ad hoc requests and general administration involved in maintaining client portfolios and files<\/p>\n
Trading and execution support<\/p>\n
\tTake responsibility to ensure all trades are executed accurately and timeously
\n\tInvestigate trading queries<\/p>\n
Compliance & Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that client files are properly set-up and maintained
\n\tEnsure clients adhere to approved fund manager list, asset allocation targets & limits
\n\tMaintain record of client advice<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBusiness, Economics or Investment related degree, preferably with Honors
\n\tInvestment related postgraduate qualification (or studying towards) such as CFP or CFA advantageous
\n\t4-6 years of relevant experience in the finance \/ investment industry<\/p>\n
Skills<\/p>\n
\tStrong general investment knowledge critical, i.e. economy, financial markets, asset classes and portfolio management with a keen interest in investments
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills
\n\tGreat relationship management skills<\/p>\n
