Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tB Degree in Accounting or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 7)
\n\t6-8 years of Experience in Accounting
\n\t5 years of Management Accounting
\n\tAdvanced accounting knowledge
\n\tDemonstrated ability to accurately draft annual budgets.
\n\tKnowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFIRS) and Accounting Standards
\n\tKnowledge of costing strategies and financial modelling
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in MS Office
\n\tKnowledge of accounting management systems
\n\tKnowledge of BI reporting and other financial reporting tools
\n\tDemonstrated ability to conduct financial and scenario planning.
\n\tUnderstanding of the Higher Education environment<\/p>\n
Summary of Duties:<\/p>\n
\tReview and update the financial affordability model in collaboration with the Manager Management Accounting.
\n\tCo-ordinate, compile and communicate the relevant aspects of the annual budgets in collaboration with the Manager Management Accounting.
\n\tDraft and communicate budgeting schedules and ensure adherence to these schedules.
\n\tCo-ordinate input from different departments \/ divisions.
\n\tMonitor that all budgets are aligned to the DUT business strategy, financial parameters, policies and procedures.
\n\tMonitor the accurate capturing \/ loading and maintenance of budget data on the system.
\n\tMaintain the Residence and SRC budgets on the system.
\n\tImplement the approved budgeting process and monitor compliance monthly.
\n\tMonitor the correct allocation of accounts and cost centres in accordance with the budgetary provisions.
\n\tVerify systems updates to accurately reflect accounts, cost centre and general ledger updates.
\n\tAssist with the creation of new accounts and cost centres if required.
\n\tCommunicate new accounts and cost centres to relevant stakeholders.
\n\tMonitor overall expenditure of all faculties\/divisions and report overspending to the Manager Management Accounting as well as the relevant Deans and\/or Heads of Divisions.
\n\tPrepare accurate and complete monthly and quarterly management reports for submission to Manager Management Accounting within the stipulated deadline and any other ad hoc reports as requested by management.
\n\tRespond to internal stakeholders in a timely and courteous manner by providing accurate and comprehensive information.
\n\tProvide and support to internal stakeholders regarding the budgeting process and the availability of funds.<\/p>\n
