Business development strategy<\/p>\n
\tSupport the Senior Manager: Commercial in implementing the SAWS Commercial Strategy.
\n\tIdentify and pursue business opportunities in existing and new markets, aligned to organisational goals.
\n\tContribute to the development of revenue growth plans, pricing strategies, and cost-recovery models.
\n\tAssist in the preparation, setting, and monitoring of revenue and sales targets for business units, aligned with departmental and organisational objectives.
\n\tSupport the operationalisation of business plans, including monitoring performance against sales\/revenue targets and providing insights for adjustments as required.
\n\tAssist in the preparation of departmental budgets and resource plans.
\n\tProvide insights and recommendations for optimizing growth strategies.<\/p>\n
Business development and client engagement<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and support delivery of value propositions, proposals, presentations, and pitches.
\n\tEngage with potential clients and support the identification of new business opportunities.
\n\tStrengthen existing client relationships in collaboration with the Key Accounts Department.
\n\tFacilitate internal coordination with product development, legal, and finance teams to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
\n\tSupport account management processes for new and existing clients.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder liaison<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with commercial partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective product\/service delivery.
\n\tSupport the development of strategic partnerships and maintain long-term client relationships.
\n\tProvide the Senior Manager with insights on market trends, client requirements, and competitive activity.
\n\tRepresent SAWS at industry events, conferences, and client engagements as required.<\/p>\n
Administration and Operational Support<\/p>\n
\tMaintain accurate records of business development activities, proposals, and client engagement.
\n\tSupport preparation of tenders, contracts, and relevant commercial documentation in collaboration with Legal and Finance.
\n\tReview contracts, agreements, and commercial documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance, and liaise with Legal for vetting and approval as required.
\n\tAssist in tracking departmental expenditure against budgets.
\n\tEnsure that CRM systems and reporting tools are up to date and support decision-making processes.<\/p>\n
Departmental Support and Governance<\/p>\n
\tProvide support to the Senior Manager: Commercial in reporting to internal committees, including the Commercial Committee, the Management Committee (MANCO), the Executive Committee (EXCO), the Strategic Programmes Committee (SPC), the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and the SAWS Board.
\n\tSupport the identification, assessment, and mitigation of commercial and operational risks within the Commercial Unit, and assist to develop and implement risk management plans.
\n\tAssist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance and good governance.
\n\tContribute to business continuity planning and ensure operational readiness of the Commercial Department.<\/p>\n
Client Service and Support<\/p>\n
\tSupport new client onboarding programs and engagement sessions.
\n\tAssist in developing and managing customer feedback systems.
\n\tParticipate in resolving escalated client queries.
\n\tProvide support in pricing processes and commercial negotiations.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements and Attributes:<\/p>\n
\tA Degree in Marketing or a relevant field (eg. Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance or Public Administration)
\n\tA relevant Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage
\n\tAt least 5 years relevant experience
\n\tExperience in working with relevant digital technologies (eg. CRM systems, reporting tools, financial tracking systems) is key for data-driven decision making and performance monitoring
\n\tExperience in customer relations management
\n\tProven track record in working with successful cross-functional teams
\n\tExperience in Public Sector would be an added advantage<\/p>\n
