Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and benchmark technology to ensure continuous improvement.
\n\tInstall and commission new equipment and systems in line with set standards.
\n\tPerform detailed design, device programming, configuration and calibration on equipment to the set parameters.
\n\tMaintain equipment and systems to optimise performance and availability.
\n\tInspect \/ monitor equipment and systems and take appropriate corrective action.
\n\tAssess equipment and recommend for decommissioning and disposal in line with set Company standards.
\n\tManage and monitor stock levels to ensure availability of critical spares.
\n\tCollect and analyse data on the system and equipment to ensure compliance with standards.
\n\tMaintain records and ensure that they are up-to-date and accurate.
\n\tIdentify, plan and execute Control & Instrumentation projects in line with accepted project management principles.
\n\tConsult with production teams on maintenance activities that affect production.
\n\tSupport the achievement of engineering availability and production performance levels.
\n\tEnsure that maintenance related information is recorded and reported timeously to the planning office to support the planned maintenance \/ asset maintenance system.
\n\tDo required fault finding and repairs as needed and assist with needed root cause analysis.<\/p>\n
Qualification Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.
\n\tNational Diploma S4 Electrical Engineering \u2013 Light\/ Medium voltage with relevant Industrial Instrumentation subject and Valid Trade Test Certificate; or
\n\tRelevant Trade Test Certificate section 13 Trade Test \/ Section 26(D) as Instrument Mechanician with N4 \u2013 N6
\n\tValid driver\u2019s Licence code B, EB or C1<\/p>\n
Experience and Skills\u00a0Requirements<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of 4 – 5 years\u2019 experience as a qualified Instrument Technician
\n\tPLC and SCADA programming experience and development
\n\tNetworks and communication experience
\n\tVSD and AS-i installations experience
\n\tExperience in one of the following smart relays: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider
\n\tKnowledge of belt scale maintenance, actuated control valves, different types of flow meters, different types of level control instruments and density instruments
\n\tStrong field instrumentation background and experience
\n\tEnglish language proficiency
\n\tTime management skills<\/p>\n
