Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace, while safeguarding the organisation from legal and reputational risks.<br \/>\n\tTo lead the SHEQ agenda for the company, focusing on safety for head office, data centres and stores. Environmental requirements for the head office, and quality requirements for the business to enable the achievement of Cell C\u2019s overall Corporate Strategy Imperatives.<br \/>\n\tTo provide professional support and advice to the senior management team and staff on Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters.<\/p>\n<p>Main Responsibilities:<br \/>\nSHEQ Strategy<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop and implement the SHEQ strategy for the company aligned to the company\u2019s strategy and objectives including ESG<br \/>\n\tPartner with senior management and staff to implement the SHEQ strategy and provide the related expert SHEQ leadership across the organisation for effective implementation<br \/>\n\tDevelop and implement related SHEQ policies and procedures to drive the requisite governance and compliance<br \/>\n\tEnsure the SHEQ strategy drives a proactive compliance culture and serves the company\u2019s compliance needs in line with legislation and best practice<br \/>\n\tFormalize functional business plans aligned to corporate strategies and advise executive leadership and operational management on SHEQ risks, trends, and compliance obligations for alignment<\/p>\n<p>SHEQ Regulatory and Compliance Management<\/p>\n<p>\tLead and maintain a proactive SHEQ compliant culture within the organisation through executing the following:<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance with all applicable legislation concerning Occupational Health and Safety Act<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all sites (all company owned stores, head office and data centres) are subjected to critical SHEQ inspections and that they are conducted, maintained, kept up to date and filed correctly according to policies and procedures<br \/>\n\tInvestigate, manage and ensure that preventive measures are in place for workplace incidents and accidents<br \/>\n\tDrive SHEQ awareness on sites\/stores using toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns, and\/or visual safety management<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the sites comply with Cell C SHEQ requirements, as well as other legislated requirements<br \/>\n\tCompile monthly safety and sustainability reports for the sites<br \/>\n\tEnsure that Cell C meets HSE and Transport safety requirements for deliveries<br \/>\n\tImprove HSE culture through constant engagement on HSE matters with staff<br \/>\n\tMonitor compliance to HSE requirements by main lessors and related suppliers<br \/>\n\tManage fire compliance at all leased sites\/stores according to SOPs (standard operating procedures)<br \/>\n\tDevelop a company quality policy specifically for consumables<br \/>\n\tSupport business during the procurement process to assess the quality of goods where necessary<br \/>\n\tPerform regular safety checks specifically for stores as per the company policy and procedure<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all SHEQ filing is up to date and easily retrievable during audits<br \/>\n\tEnsure that SHEQ risk assessments and legal appointments (i.e. SHE Representatives, First Aiders, etc.) are in place, maintained and filed correctly<br \/>\n\tEnsure organisational adherence to the National Environmental Management Act and related environmental regulations. Oversee waste management, pollution control, and environmental impact assessments. Implement environmental management systems and conduct environmental awareness training<br \/>\n\tMonitor and ensure compliance with all applicable municipal and industry-specific by-laws. Advise management on regulatory changes and coordinate the implementation of necessary adjustments to company practices<br \/>\n\tMaintain comprehensive records of all OHS, COIDA, NEMA, and by-law compliance activities.<br \/>\n\tPrepare regular reports for management, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders<br \/>\n\tAct as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external consultants on matters related to OHS, COIDA, NEMA, and by-laws<br \/>\n\tMonitor industry trends and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to compliance programmes and management systems<\/p>\n<p>Staff Management<\/p>\n<p>\tManage and motivate staff to effectively deliver objectives, ensuring development opportunities, appraisal and management systems are embedded and relevant HR procedures are always adhered to<br \/>\n\tProvide an advisory, support and mentorship function to enable staff to grow within their career<br \/>\n\tEstablish, evaluate and guide the team\u2019s Employee Performance Management programme<br \/>\n\tSet Key Performance Indicators, targets and goals as per the department\u2019s strategy and business objectives<br \/>\n\tRecruit employees; assign and direct work; oversee staff development; identify training needs and maintain staff competence<br \/>\n\tUphold HR policies and procedures at all times<br \/>\n\tApply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules<\/p>\n<p>Quality Management<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems and related approach (QMS)<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance with ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 where applicable)<br \/>\n\tOversee audits, non-conformances, corrective, and preventive actions<br \/>\n\tEnsure quality standards in network installations, maintenance, and service delivery<\/p>\n<p>Budget Management and Procurement<\/p>\n<p>\tPrepare, control and administer the annual budget for the function<br \/>\n\tManage and report on cost tracking and variation reports, implementing corrective action where required<br \/>\n\tApprove relevant expenditure for the team in line with delegation of authority<br \/>\n\tInform the Executive layer timeously of potential over-spend<br \/>\n\tMake recommendations for budget-affecting change requests<br \/>\n\tProcure related services and\/or products in line with the company polices to achieve the SHEQ objectives in line with the SHEQ strategy and company requirements<\/p>\n<p>Ad hoc<\/p>\n<p>\tPerform any other related duties as requested by Management<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Qualification<\/p>\n<p>\tRelevant Degree or NQF level 7 qualification in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Environmental Management, or related field<br \/>\n\tSAMTRAC\/NADSAM certificate will be advantageous<br \/>\n\tLicense Code 8<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>\t9 -10 years of experience in SHEQ<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of Health and Safety, COIDA, Environmental procedures, requirements and legislation is mandatory<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of applicable municipal by-laws mandatory<br \/>\n\tISO protocols experience will be advantageous<br \/>\n\tExperience in a dynamic, high-volume operating environment<br \/>\n\tExperience and exposure to managing compliance with other pieces of legislation (e.g. POPIA, ECA, ECTA, ICASA, etc.) in addition to SHEQ legislation an added advantage<\/p>\n<p>Closing Date\u00a011 March 2026<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"Cell C","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"At Cell C, we know that because change is inevitable, growth is up to us.
