Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement financial strategies to support business objectives
\n\tConduct financial analysis and modelling to evaluate business opportunities and risks
\n\tPrepare and present financial forecasts and reports to senior management
\n\tAssist the Finance Executive and lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans
\n\tMonitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights
\n\tRevise forecasts as needed to reflect changes in business conditions
\n\tEnsure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
\n\tOversee the consolidation of financial reports for multiple business units
\n\tMaintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
\n\tManage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs
\n\tDevelop cash flow forecasts and analyse cash position to optimise working capital
\n\tImplement strategies to improve cash conversion cycles and enhance working capital efficiency
\n\tMonitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels to optimise working capital
\n\tIdentify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
\n\tEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory standards
\n\tCoordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support
\n\tManage capital expenditure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
\n\tMonitor and report on return on investment (ROI) for major projects
\n\tDevelop pricing strategies that align with market conditions and business goals
\n\tEnsure accurate pricing of products and controls around pricing
\n\tConduct competitive analysis to ensure pricing is optimised for profitability and market share
\n\tCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to adjust pricing based on demand and cost changes
\n\tMonitor and analyse production costs to identify trends and variances
\n\tCollaborate with production teams to implement cost-saving initiatives and improve efficiency
\n\tProvide detailed reports on production cost performance and recommend adjustments as necessary
\n\tAnalyse existing financial processes and identify areas for improvement
\n\tDevelop and implement streamlined processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
\n\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices and innovative solutions
\n\tDesign and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity
\n\tRegularly review and update internal controls to adapt to changing business environments
\n\tTrain staff on internal control procedures and ensure adherence across the organisation
\n\tLead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
\n\tConduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities
\n\tEncourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the finance department
\n\tCommunicate financial insights and recommendations to non-financial stakeholders
\n\tPrepare presentations for board meetings
\n\tAct as a liaison between finance and other departments to ensure alignment on financial objectives<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
\n\tCA(SA) \/ CIMA or equivalent professional certification (advantageous)
\n\t5 \u2013 7 years\u2019 experience in finance management role, ideally in a corporate or multi entity environment
\n\t3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 experience in Forestry or agriculture environment
\n\tExtensive knowledge of financial management principles and practices
\n\tUnderstanding of the industry and its financial dynamics
\n\tFamiliarity with financial regulations, compliance standards, and risk management
\n\tIn depth knowledge of financial accounting standards (cross country will be advantageous), statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance
\n\tExperience with SAP, Oracle, AS400 or any other accounting system and advanced experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros)
\n\tExceptional analytical expertise and high attention to detail with strong problem solving ability
\n\tExcellent time management, organisational skills and adherence to deadlines
\n\tStrong written and verbal communication skills
\n\tEffective interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and influence across teams
\n\tStrategic thinker who can drive change and add value to decision making
\n\tAdaptable and proactive, comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license (Code 08) and willingness to travel between sites
\n\tValid Passport
\n\tBilingual in English and Afrikaans (advantageous)<\/p>\n
