\tThis\u00a0position exists to provide guidance on aspect of material specification testing methods, handling, utilisation, procurement and production of tailings material.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Operations<\/p>\n
\tCollect, prepare, analyse and test samples of tailings material, soil and slurry.
\n\tCoordinate quality specification testing requirements on site to ensure compliance with tailings and dam construction standards.
\n\tPerform field density testing using methods such as Nuclear Density Gauge and Sand Cone tests.
\n\tEnsure materials are compacted within acceptable moisture and density specifications, including monitoring Optimum Moisture Content.<\/p>\n
Safety<\/p>\n
\tEnsuring safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times.
\n\tEnsuring Laboratory methods statements and risk assessments in place and applied.
\n\tConducting Planned Task Observation (PTO) and Visible Field Leadership (VFL)<\/p>\n
Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tAttending to laboratory housekeeping
\n\tMaintaining laboratory equipment.<\/p>\n
Reporting<\/p>\n
\tRecording data and results accurately and responsibly.
\n\tFiling and submitting recorded data to client representative, site management & line management.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tGrade\u00a012.
\n\tNational Diploma in Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience working in a laboratory or materials testing role within a construction or tailings environment.<\/p>\n
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED<\/p>\n
\tStrong understanding of soil mechanics, compaction principles and density testing methods.
\n\tAbility to interpret material testing specifications and results.
\n\tStrong technical and operational knowledge of construction material testing.
\n\tExcellent communication skills (written and verbal).
\n\tGood problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
\n\tAbility to work effectively with site operations and technical teams.
\n\tStrong attention to detail when recording and analysing test results.<\/p>\n
