The Fraud Investigator will be responsible for mitigating suspicious and fraudulent activity during the various phases of our customer journey with Betway. This will be achieved by identifying patterns, trends or anomalies which are outside of the ordinary customer\u2019s behaviour. Monitoring and reviewing of high\u2013risk transactions is required, and role further necessitates reporting of findings to escalated parties and stakeholders. There is a need for interaction with internal and external parties to explore, suggest and motivate on best practises to management.<\/p>\n
What you\u2019ll be doing<\/p>\n
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor real time engines and queues and identify high risk transactions within the business portfolio.
\n\tObserve customer transactions to identify fraudulent activity such as account takeover, friendly fraud, theft and similar other risks.
\n\tIdentify fraudulent transactions and cancel them from further processing.
\n\tResolve queued transactions within the service level agreements to reduce potential revenue losses.
\n\tInteract with banks and customers to validate information and to confirm or cancel authorizations.
\n\tResolve customer issues within the scope of existing service level agreements.
\n\tMonitor constantly customer and transactional records to identify unauthorized transactions and fraudulent accounts.
\n\tMaintain fraud analysis models to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company systems.
\n\tEnsure confidentiality of all information collected during investigation.
\n\tDetermine existing fraud trends by analysing accounts and transaction patterns.
\n\tIdentify system improvements to prevent fraudulent activities.
\n\tRecommend anti-fraud processes for changing transaction patterns and trends.
\n\tRecommend new software tools used for fraud detection, prevention and reporting activities.
\n\tGenerate suspicious activity reports and risk management reports for Managers.
\n\tReview SDD KYC for account deemed high risk.
\n\tEnsure accurate and appropriate responses to disputes.
\n\tMonitor disputed transactions for possible fraudulent activity.
\n\tServe customers by resolving product and service problem
\n\tReviewing of customer withdrawals and identifying suspicious patterns, trends or behaviours and taking the necessary action to secure the account.
\n\tWe applicable, logging of the necessary Suspicious Transaction Reporting or Suspicious Activity Reporting to the relevant stakeholders.

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:<\/p>\n
\tFamiliarity with fraud prevention issues and suspicious transaction monitoring systems
\n\tMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in a financial services data analysis and\/or risk management
\n\tKnowledge of online payment systems, regulations, understanding of KYC and financial crime
\n\tDegree or Diploma
\n\tStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
\n\tExperience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
\n\tExpertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
\n\tExceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
\n\tAbility to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations<\/p>\n

\tIn-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
\n\tPrevious experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
\n\tFamiliarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
\n\tComputer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
\n\tAbility to use pivot tables and work with an advanced statistical database and statistical methods and functions.
