Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting or related field.
\n\tA Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification is mandatory.
\n\tA minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or a related environment.
\n\tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience at a senior management level, with demonstrable exposure to corporate governance, financial strategy, and leadership.
\n\tProfessional registration with SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA or any relevant professional body.
\n\tProven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation, and compliance.
\n\tExperience in investment management, funding mechanisms, and revenue-generation models, preferably within the public sector or water sector environment.
\n\tSound understanding of government legislation and regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, King IV, and Supply Chain Management prescripts.
\n\tDemonstrated ability to align financial strategies with organisational goals and strategic priorities.
\n\tExperience in the water sector will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic leadership in financial planning, budgeting, and expenditure control to promote financial sustainability and efficiency.
\n\tLead the tariff-determination process and engage with key stakeholders, municipalities, and regulators.
\n\tOverseeing financial reporting, including the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
\n\tEnsure sound revenue-management practices, financial-risk mitigation, and long-term financial planning.
\n\tOversee asset management and procurement processes in compliance with Supply Chain Management regulations.
\n\tOversee inventory management and strengthen financial controls to support operational sustainability.
\n\tLead and oversee performance management processes within the finance function.
\n\tProviding strategic financial input into the Shareholder Compact, Board submissions, policy development, and executive decision-making.
\n\tEnsure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements within the finance department.
\n\tDrive change management initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
\n\tUpholding confidentiality, ethical standards, confidentiality, and sound corporate-governance practices in all financial transactions.<\/p>\n
