Vacancy exists for Pre-Admission Clinical Assessor based at Life Mercantile Hospital, reporting to Jacqueline Naude, Patient Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the financial and clinical administrative risks pertaining to future patient admissions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Critical Outputs
\nManage pre-admission risk –\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPerform clinical assessments and document clinical history.
\n\tEnsure all pre-admissions are accurately clinically coded in accordance with the coding standards.
\n\tEfficient and proactive pre-admission of all patients in accordance with Group protocol and close liaison with Case Management and National Credit Risk Departments to minimize risk exposure to the Hospital.
\n\tEnsure high standard of documentation and capture of relevant information for all admissions through hands on supervision and training.
\n\tMaintain a high level of customer focus amongst all staff at the Pre-Admission Clinic to the benefit of the Hospital, Public and Doctors.
\n\tOptimal management of bed and theatre bookings through close liaison with ward and Doctor\u2019s rooms
\n\tSound working knowledge and application of Funds relevant rules and limits.
\n\tManage authorisations requests and benefit confirmations i.e., prosthesis benefit confirmation.
\n\tMonitor insurance verification with funder.
\n\tMonitor workflow processes.
\n\tIdentify and monitor gaps and risks and implement corrective actions accordingly.<\/p>\n
Ensure effective management of quality outputs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to ISO 9001 standards.
\n\tPerform quality walkabouts and implement corrective measures, where appropriate
\n\tImplement and monitor quality improvement programmes through power teams.
\n\tAdhere to patient services escalation processes.
\n\tMonitor Q-evaluator score and implement corrective measures, where appropriate
\n\tInvestigate internal and external stakeholder complaints and take appropriate action.\u00a0
\n\tDrive adherence to customer service standards Ensure and promote operational excellence.\u00a0
\n\tDrive compliance to LHC policies regarding authorisations and deviations
\n\tImplement corrective actions, where necessary\u00a0
\n\tMonitor reports.
\n\tMonitor and adhere to patient services policies and procedures.
\n\tEnsure compliance to service level agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tWhen operationally required, assist the case management team with case management duties and responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Ensure effective management of relationships with internal\/external stakeholders.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tFoster and maintain healthy relationships with internal stakeholders.
\n\tProvide relevant feedback and information on concerns or issues raised by internal stakeholders.
\n\tImplement corrective actions on deviations directly impacting on case management processes.
\n\tMonitor of and advice on effective and regular communication with external stakeholders\u00a0
\n\tManage escalated concerns from Case Managers with external stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Paramedics as Critical Care Assistants or Emergency Care Practitioners or any other qualification that covers Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology and Microbiology as foundational courses
\n\tCurrent SANC registration
\n\tKnowledge of hospital patient services and case management processes
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of CPT & ICD coding
\n\tKnowledge of Funder contracts, scheme rules, exclusions and benefits
\n\tUnderstanding of private hospital industry and practices
\n\tComputer proficiency<\/p>\n
