PURPOSE OF THE POSITION<\/p>\n
\tThe incumbent will be expected to conduct research and make scholarly publications in African language media, supervise master\u2019s and doctoral students, assist with the management of the entity, initiate and get involved in community engagement projects, and any other activities as may be assigned by the director of the entity or the management of the faculty.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Research:<\/p>\n
\tConduct research and publish in accredited journals.<\/p>\n
Professional development:<\/p>\n
\tConsolidate research in the field of Indigenous language media.
\n\tEngage and promote knowledge production and sharing in the field of Indigenous Language Media.
\n\tProvide intellectual leadership within ILMA.
\n\tOrganise and attend workshops, seminars.<\/p>\n
Community engagement:<\/p>\n
\tInitiate and actively participate in community engagement projects.<\/p>\n
Engage, collaborate with strategic higher education partners:<\/p>\n
\tEstablish and build on current networks of Higher Education expertise at faculty, institutional, national and international level
\n\tEstablish and build HE partnership and collaborations.<\/p>\n

Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
\tA PhD (NQF level 10) in\u00a0Media\/Communication or African Languages with an interest in Media Studies.
\n\tA minimum of 6 (six) years\u2019 academic experience in higher education post-PhD.
\n\tEvidence of postgraduate supervision.
\n\tConsistent research and publications in accredited journals.<\/p>\n
