We are looking for a Supplier Production Engineer with more than 5 years Product Development, Production or Quality Management experience to join our team on a temporary basis. As an accessory quality engineer, you must have hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of quality control & inspection, setting of quality standards for both part and packaging and leading supplier production trials. In addition, you must have vast experience with technical problem solving with the ability to initiate corrective actions.
\n\tThe Accessory Quality Engineer will be collaborating with a wider team of design engineers, Accessory Suppliers, PPO, and fitment Vendors to achieve the overall goal of maintaining the part quality, fitment quality, durability and reliability of the final product while keeping the Customer usage in mind.<\/p>\n
\u00a0KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:<\/p>\n
\tProject management: Coordinating Production preparation activities [SPTT activities]
\n\tLeading Production trials: Mass Production Trials [counter measure confirmation & Quality buy-off], confirming Tooling, checking fixtures, In-process quality documentation (PPAP), boundary sample setting and approval, Supplier Capacity, Part quality & Packaging standard criteria setting & buy off.
\n\tDesign reviews – provide input to Design Engineering relating to quality and reliability analysis.
\n\tDesign reviews – provides input from component quality and manufacturability perspective.
\n\tRisk Quality Assurance – Fire Hazard evaluation for wire harness design [Electrical Accessory Products]
\n\tVisual Management: Project tracking & reporting on production trial status on a daily & weekly basis, formalizing status and updating of dashboards.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: (Mechanical & Electrical)<\/p>\n
\tNQF Level 6 (360 credits – level 8 framework) qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical),
\n\tQualified Diesel Mechanic (N6 + Trade Test in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
\n\tAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings (Mechanical & Electrical)
\n\tComputer Literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects)
\n\tKnowledge of Computer Aided Software [Catia, Solid Works, etc.]
\n\tProject Management skills for Part Development & reporting [Vehicle Development milestone]
\n\t5 years in product\/component design & production environment, with exposure to FEA, CAE, FMEA.
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience with product development, manufacturing, quality & evaluation processes
\n\tInterpretation of Technical Drawings and Standards.
\n\tDesign Review knowledge [Failure analysis, troubleshooting & counter measure].
\n\tToyota Engineering Standards & Systems knowledge & experience [TSIN & TQNET]
\n\tKnowledge of welding, painting techniques & corrosive treatment.
\n\tSound knowledge of Material types, strength, treatment methods, applications & performance.
\n\tSound knowledge of Toyota packaging & label standards & TMC\u2019s substance of concern std.
\n\tManufacturing In Process Quality knowledge. (Part inspection, Inspection & packaging)
\n\tBackground in auditing & familiarity with ISO9001, 14001 & TS16949 requirements
\n\tCross functional experience in dealing internally with Engineers, Marketing, Planning, Technical Services, Warehouse & Warranty.
\n\tCross functional experience in dealing externally with Toyota Suppliers.
\n\tECR (Engineering Change Request) \/ ECI (Engineering Change Instruction) process flow.
\n\tFire Hazard evaluation for wire harness installation approval.
\n\tExperience with analysis of quality issues & completion of PCM sheet or 8D reports.
\n\tRegulatory knowledge [South African National Standards, Independent Communications Authority.
\n\tMust have a valid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
