\tWe are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Business Intelligence developer to take ownership of one of the core reporting functions within MiWay.
\n\tThis critical role is responsible for bridging the gap between data and commercial strategy. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of a robust BI landscape, transforming complex data into integrated views and actionable insights that directly influence the key business focus areas and supports our goal of operational excellence.<\/p>\n

Qualification Required<\/p>\n
\tA Bachelor\u2019s degree or relevant certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.<\/p>\n
Minimum Experience<\/p>\n
\tBI and Analytics experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence development, data analysis, or a similar quantitative role.
\n\tLeadership experience: Relevant experience in management, team lead, or senior supervisory capacity is advantageous
\n\tIndustry expertise: Demonstrable experience working within the Short-Term Insurance or broader Financial Services industry is advantageous.
\n\tData warehouse experience: Proven background in designing and working with Data warehouse concepts.
\n\tSQL mastery: Expert-level proficiency in working with large, complex SQL Server databases.<\/p>\n
Deliverables<\/p>\n
\tThe MIS Technical Lead will be the primary custodian of data in their respective area, responsible for the full reporting lifecycle. Key deliverables include:<\/p>\n
Data integration and modeling<\/p>\n
\tAnalysing and understanding data from multiple sources to create integrated, unified views that can be used to drive accurate decision-making within the operational\/other environment.
\n\tWorking with several large and complex SQL databases to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility for reporting purposes.
\n\tBe fully capable of developing and maintaining OLAP or Tabular Model Cubes within a SQL environment (SQL Server 2010 or higher) to enable high-speed analytical queries.
\n\tPropose and implement data schema and data flow optimisation for enhanced reporting performance and system scalability.<\/p>\n
Reporting delivery and implementation<\/p>\n
\tEstablishing, collecting, and maintaining the complete set of business reporting requirements by engaging directly with leadership and internal stakeholders.
\n\tLeading the design and implementation of new BI reports and dashboards based on defined business requirements.
\n\tAnalysing existing legacy reports, optimising them for efficiency, and driving standardisation across the company to ensure consistency in performance metrics.
\n\tSetting up, maintaining, and administering core BI tools, infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration with all company data sources.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder management<\/p>\n
\tEstablish and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients and acting as a trusted advisor to ensure BI delivery consistently meets their strategic requirements.
\n\tProactively identifying trends, performance anomalies, and commercial opportunities within the data, and translating these findings into clear, impactful presentations for executive audiences.<\/p>\n
Team leadership and management<\/p>\n
\tLead, mentor, and manage the performance and professional development of the relevant reporting team.
\n\tAllocate BI and BA resources effectively across projects and support activities, ensuring optimal workload distribution.
\n\tFoster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and high performance.
\n\tSet clear objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.<\/p>\n
Competencies Required<\/p>\n
Technical competencies<\/p>\n
\tAdvanced user and developer proficiency with BI technologies, particularly Microsoft Power BI. Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., PowerApps) is beneficial.
\n\tIn-depth understanding of database management systems, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), and the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework.
\n\tStrong knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for structured report delivery, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data movement and transformation.<\/p>\n

\tPossesses an analytical mind with a proven problem-solving aptitude and the ability to handle ambiguity and complexity.
