About the role:<\/p>\n
\tTo serve as a financial support function to meet the Utility Business units\u2019 goals and objectives. To ensure that all payments are paid on time in an accurate and efficient manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices so that the Business unit\u2019s expenditures recordings are accurate and timely.<\/p>\n
What you will bring:<\/p>\n
\tSenior Certificate with Accounting as a subject
\n\tBookkeeping and\/or National Diploma in Accounting
\n\t\u00b1 2 years\u2019 experience is essential<\/p>\n
Knowledge required:<\/p>\n
\tAptitude for figures and financial skills
\n\tAdequate knowledge of specific discipline
\n\tLegislation and regulations with regards to municipal\/government supply and services requirements.
\n\tIndustry knowledge specific to area of accountability
\n\tComputer Literacy
\n\tNegotiation skills
\n\tOrganising skills<\/p>\n

What you will be doing:<\/p>\n
\tPreparation of payment proposal (Draw Down)
\n\tDecision on which accounts to pay\/withhold
\n\tPreparation of payment files (SAP proposal to DME upload)
\n\tAccurate filing of proposal and proof of payment
\n\tClear amounts due or refundable on terminated accounts prior to status change
\n\tLiaising with Councils\/Municipality\/Eskom on specific invoice queries
\n\tRequest inter-account transfers from Councils\/Municipalities\/Eskom \u2013 follow all steps until Balance Sheet Reconciliation
\n\tAnalysis of drawdown report by ensuring all action plans to address queries have been implemented
\n\tManagement of Draw down and Bank accounts
\n\tTo carry out any other Adhoc duties as may be required from time to time by management<\/p>\n
