Maintenance Engineer\u00a0(12-Month Contract)<\/p>\n
\tOur client is seeking an experienced\u00a0Maintenance Engineer\u00a0to support mining operations on a\u00a012-month contract\u00a0at its operation in\u00a0Mooinooi, North West.
\n\tThe role is responsible for ensuring the\u00a0safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of plant, equipment, and engineering infrastructure\u00a0across the mining and processing environment.
\n\tThe successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational performance, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with statutory and site-specific engineering standards.
\n\tOur client is an\u00a0integrated resource group focused on the responsible extraction and beneficiation of platinum group metals (PGMs) and chrome concentrates.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBEng \/ BSc \/ BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
\n\tGCC Mines & Works (Mechanical or Electrical) will be advantageous.
\n\tStrong experience with maintenance management systems and reliability engineering.
\n\tSolid knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and applicable engineering standards.
\n\tExperience with mobile mining equipment, fixed plant, and processing equipment will be beneficial.
\n\tProven ability in preventative maintenance planning, equipment reliability improvement, and breakdown management.
\n\tComputer literacy (MS Office and CMMS \/ maintenance systems).
\n\tMedically fit to work in a mining environment.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Roles & Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all engineering maintenance activities and equipment installations comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and site engineering standards.
\n\tDevelop, implement, and optimise planned maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability.
\n\tMonitor and analyse equipment performance and failure trends, implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime.
\n\tConduct root cause analysis on mechanical or electrical failures and implement sustainable solutions.
\n\tPerform regular inspections of plant and equipment to identify potential risks, defects, and non-compliance.
\n\tSupport capital projects, plant upgrades, and equipment optimisation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
\n\tManage and coordinate contractors and maintenance teams, ensuring all work is executed safely and to specification.
\n\tEnsure proper documentation, reporting, and engineering records are maintained in line with operational standards.
\n\tWork closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to support operational targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n\tPromote a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
\n\tAssist with budget control, maintenance planning, and resource allocation within the engineering function.<\/p>\n
