Position Purpose
\nTWO VACANCIES TO BE FILLED FOR CAPE TOWN TERMINALS and RICHARDS BAY TERMINALS<\/p>\n
\tTo manage and coordinate all construction activities on site in order to ensure that the work in progress conforms to the specification, Works Information, Construction Drawings, Special Conditions of Construction, in coordination with the NEC3 contract.
\n\tTo manage projects executed by a single or various entity inside or outside Transnet Port Terminals to ensure planning, management, and implementation of projects within scheduled time, cost budget and to the prescribed quality standards.
\n\tTo set up site and prepare systems and procedures to manage all construction activities at site compliance with the instruction of the Project Manager.<\/p>\n
Position Outputs<\/p>\n
\tOverall responsibility for managing all construction activities on site, participating in the constructability reviews with Engineering and Design and representing
\n\tTransnet PortTerminals for all Local Authorities, Partners, contractors or vendors. \u00a0
\n\tDeveloping project plans to ensure that desired outputs are delivered in accordance with the agreed schedule. \u00a0
\n\tEnsuring that all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security, Quality, Material Management, and Field Engineering Queries are adhered to. \u00a0
\n\tCompiling and communicating project reports, informing all site key stakeholders of the progress of the works and of any occurrences in the field that may affect the project. \u00a0
\n\tManaging projects in a manner that ensures that projects are completed in line with specifications, on time and within defined budgets. \u00a0
\n\tAnticipating and pre-empting project risks to minimise additional cost and ensure timeous completion of projects.
\n\tOverseeing small projects or phases of a larger project to ensure sufficient resources and high levels of functional integration. \u00a0
\n\tEnsuring effective project initiation, planning, execution, control and close. \u00a0
\n\tEnsuring familiarity with system scope and project objectives and role and function of team members to effectively co-ordinate the activities of the team. \u00a0
\n\tEnsure effective Interface between all stakeholders, contractors and departments. \u00a0
\n\tManage Contractors asset register (Tool list & equipment list) \u00a0
\n\tAttend daily toolbox talks \u00a0
\n\tEnsuring adherence to quality standards. \u00a0
\n\tReviewing project deliverables. \u00a0
\n\tManaging project scope and changing control and escalating issues where necessary. \u00a0
\n\tEnsuring the complete process of the constructability program is in line with the Project requirements \u00a0
\n\tAlways ensure adherence to safety \u00a0
\n\tEnsure effective project initiation, planning, execution, control and close<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree\/ NH Diploma\/ BTech in Construction\/ Engineering relevant engineering qualification.\u00a0
\n\tMin 6 years\u2019 relevant experience, of which at least 2 years at managerial level or specialist experience.\u00a0
\n\tProfessional engineering registration in South Africa will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
