\tThe School of Tourism & Hospitality develops future-fit leadership for the Tourism & Hospitality sector by providing both high-quality programme offerings as well as facilities, which host functions and events. \u00a0These commercial facilities and services add to the high-quality teaching & learning environment that the students are exposed to.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tReport daily to the Sous Chef & Chef de Partie.
\n\tEnsure the daily production against the requirements.
\n\tEnsure that hygiene requirements in terms of HACCP are adhered to.
\n\tManage the correct use of equipment and ensure maintenance thereof when necessary.
\n\tProviding good customer service to the relevant stakeholders.
\n\tProvide guidance and\/or mentorship to students in the production of food.
\n\tConduct assessments of students’ portfolios, behaviour and performance to facilitate the WIL process.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (NQF 4) qualification
\n\tA minimum of three (3) years’ job related experience.
\n\tAt least six (6) months experience in similar position.
\n\tProven computer skills in Windows and MS Office.
\n\tProfessional cookery experience in the hotel industry, preferably in the 5-star\/fine dining environment.
\n\tIndustry knowledge.
\n\tWine knowledge.
\n\tKitchen management experience.<\/p>\n
Recommendations:<\/p>\n
\tA relevant Diploma (NQF 6).
\n\tAssessment skills.
\n\tUnderstanding of the academic environment.
\n\tMICROS experience.<\/p>\n
