POSITION OVERVIEW<\/p>\n
\tThe Draughtsman is responsible for producing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings, models, and fabrication data to support engineering, manufacturing, and project execution activities.
\n\tThe role requires strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Prior exposure to mineral processing, heavy industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments will be a significant advantage.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Drawing & Modeling<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and update 3D models using Autodesk Inventor, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design intent.
\n\tPrepare detailed fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings.
\n\tManage drawing revisions, control documentation, and maintain drawing traceability through established systems (Vault exposure advantageous).<\/p>\n
Engineering Support<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with Engineers to translate conceptual designs into manufacturable outputs.
\n\tParticipate in design reviews and incorporate engineering feedback efficiently.
\n\tAssist in resolving design challenges, interferences, and site-related design modifications.<\/p>\n
Standards & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tApply industry standards, codes of practice, and internal drawing conventions.
\n\tEnsure all drawings meet company quality standards and project specifications.<\/p>\n
Manufacturing & Project Interface<\/p>\n
\tProduce accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and support procurement with technical detail.
\n\tProvide drawing support to fabrication teams and address workshop queries.
\n\tSupport the Project Management Office with layout drawings, equipment footprints, and interface details.<\/p>\n
Quality control<\/p>\n
\tReview all drawings, layouts, and detailing for technical accuracy, completeness, and constructability prior to issue.
\n\tPerform cross-checks between disciplines (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, etc.) to identify clashes, inconsistencies, or interface issues.
\n\tEnsure drawing issue status, numbering, and document control requirements are correctly followed.
\n\tIdentify and resolve drafting errors, omissions, and non-conformances prior to internal review or external submission.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement of drafting and QC processes by identifying recurring issues and proposing corrective actions.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS
\nMinimum Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tRelevant Draughting Certificate or Diploma (Mechanical, Structural, or Multidisciplinary).
\n\tProven experience as a Designer\/Draughtsman in an engineering or fabrication environment.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tAutodesk Inventor: Advanced proficiency (mandatory).
\n\tAutodesk Vault: Experience and proficiency (advantageous).
\n\tAbility to produce fabrication-ready structural, mechanical and piping drawings.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tExperience in mineral processing equipment, mining machinery, or heavy manufacturing (strong advantage).
\n\tFamiliarity with plant layout design, material handling equipment, or process plant components is beneficial.<\/p>\n
