REQUIREMENTS\u00a0:<\/p>\n
\tThe applicant must in a possession of a relevant Bachelor of Law\/Legal Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA;
\n\tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience at middle\/senior managerial level; Experience in Education Law is a pre-requisite;
\n\tThe candidate must be admitted as an Attorney or Advocate; Knowledge of the South African legal system and legal practices; Excellent leadership skills and strategic management skills;\u00a0<\/p>\n
DUTIES\u00a0:<\/p>\n
\tThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Directorate: Legal Services; Providing litigation support to the National Department of Basic Education (DBE) as well as Provincial Education Departments;
\n\tProviding legal advice to the entire Department; Coordination, monitoring, evaluating and supporting the effective implementation of legislation related to the basic education; Administering legislation of statutory bodies;
\n\tManaging court cases on behalf of the Minister and Director-General of the Department Basic Education; Drafting advice on national and international agreements and negotiating the terms of agreement with parties.\u00a0<\/p>\n
