About the role<\/p>\n
\tAre you keen to make a tangible difference in HSE Manager for ensuring that coordinating all HS&E programs and for leading all HS&E agenda for Elandsfontein site. The incumbent leads the deployment of Global strategy for embedding a Safety-First culture where each member of the team actively owns Safety and seeing its implementation across the site. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of a transformational Culture for Health and Safety programs, as well as Environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives for the site. You will be expected to demonstrate leadership behaviours, and a commitment to Health, Safety and Environment while ensuring the development of a strong talent pipeline and an engaged team<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsures compliance with current legislation and management of performance against environmental standards.
\n\tDevelopment of proposals to meet future legislation
\n\tResponsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the organisation and for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development.
\n\tParticipate as a key member of the Elandsfontein Site Leadership Team; drive strategic direction and vision of the site HS&E priorities.\u00a0
\n\tPartner with cross functional teams to foster a Safety-First culture through listening, education and training, accountability and continuous improvement.
\n\tWorks closely with the global HS&E team to support the business strategy under its scope of control, securing the deployment of initiatives, corporate and regulatory goals.
\n\tDevelop and execute long-term plans related to succession planning and team development, cost management, facility improvements, equipment upgrades and regulation changes.
\n\tEffectively communicate and review the functional and financial performance of the HS&E department and programs, manages the tools and processes to monitor key performance indicators.\u00a0
\n\tEstablish and implement HS&E strategic continuous improvement plans. \u00a0Explores industry trends, develops strategies, and drives the adoption of leading EHS technology.
\n\tUnderstand the continuous improvement (CI) methodologies and use them to drive sustained results, including continuous Safety related training & learning
\n\tImplement training programs to educate employees on HS&E best practices.
\n\tDevelop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for all the sites.
\n\tAudit HS&E systems and programs to ensure compliance to internal and external standards.
\n\tActively participate in the development of the fixed departmental and capital budgets and administer the approved budget under its responsibility including capital expense requests.
\n\tEnsure that all physical assets of the site are effectively protected and maintained from a safety perspective.
\n\tEnsure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tExcellent incident investigation ability to support, challenge and strengthen site accident investigations. Point of contact from senior leadership for any follow up questions.<\/p>\n
The experience we’re looking for<\/p>\n
\tBsc, BEng, B-Tech in Engineering, Health and Safety, Business management ,Pharmaceutical or other related discipline are required.
\n\tBetween 5-7 years within manufacturing, FMCG preferred
\n\t3+ years managerial experience in various areas of health and safety in a highly- regulated
\n\tKnowledge of HS&E regulations and standards. Certification in relevant HS&E disciplines is a plus advantages\u00a0
\n\tUnderstanding managing Audits ,systems and risk management critical for the role.
\n\tGood understanding of Global manufacturinf process & Systems deploymenet.
\n\tDemostrated leadership in leading a high perfoming team.<\/p>\n
