JOB DESCRIPTION:<\/p>\n
\tThe IT Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for end-user computing environments across Motus Mobility Solutions. This role ensures that desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related software systems operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organisation standards.
\n\tThe ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of enterprise IT environments, including Windows, Microsoft 365, and endpoint security solutions.<\/p>\n
DUTIES \/ RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
End-User Support<\/p>\n
\tProvide first and second-line technical support to employees across all business units (onsite and remote)
\n\tTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely and professional manner
\n\tManage user incidents and service requests through the IT Service Management (ITSM) system with is ManageEngine Service Desk, ensuring accurate logging, tracking, and closure
\n\tInstall, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals<\/p>\n
Systems & Software<\/p>\n
\tDeploy and update operating systems, applications, and patches via centralised management tools
\n\tSupport Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
\n\tEnsure device compliance with security policies, antivirus, encryption, and access control standards
\n\tManage software installations and license tracking according to vendor and company policies<\/p>\n
Network & Connectivity<\/p>\n
\tAssist in basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN connectivity)
\n\tSupport remote access technologies and resolve related issues for hybrid or remote employees
\n\tEscalate complex network or infrastructure issues to Senior IT teams as necessary<\/p>\n
Security & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tMaintain endpoint protection standards, including patching, antivirus updates, and disk encryption (BitLocker or equivalent)
\n\tEnforce adherence to IT security policies and best practices
\n\tParticipate in security audits, compliance checks, and vulnerability remediation activities<\/p>\n
Asset & Configuration Management<\/p>\n
\tManage IT asset inventory, including hardware lifecycle tracking (procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal)
\n\tEnsure accurate configuration records within the CMDB or asset management system
\n\tSupport hardware refresh projects and coordinate vendor warranties or repairs<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement<\/p>\n
\tIdentify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis and preventive measures
\n\tDocument knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides
\n\tParticipate in IT projects (e.g., system migrations, rollouts, or upgrades)
\n\tStay current with emerging technologies relevant to desktop support and endpoint management<\/p>\n
EDUCATION \/ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS \/ EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Essential \/ none negotiables:<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
\n\t3+ years\u2019 experience in IT desktop support or end-user computing
\n\tStrong knowledge of Windows 10\/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common enterprise applications
\n\tExperience with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ManageEngine)
\n\tUnderstanding of TCP\/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN connectivity
\n\tFamiliarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., Cytomic)<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tIT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation
\n\tExperience supporting macOS or Linux environments
\n\tBasic understanding of scripting (PowerShell)
\n\tExperience in corporate or multi-site environments<\/p>\n
