A global multinational manufacturer is seeking a Financial Accountant to be responsible for the complete and timely execution of Accounting Operations with good quality in the area of General Accounting, according to defined processes and activity splits, including the monthly preparation and presentation of the BKA (HB2), on a 12-month contract basis.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements for the role:<\/p>\n
\tMust have a B. Com. Accounting degree
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in a financial accounting role (having articles experience is a plus)
\n\tMust have the ability to work with teams across functions and countries
\n\tDemonstrated strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced formula-driven use, data manipulation, and reporting, along with experience using SAP for transactional and reporting purposes<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tInitiating requests for new or changes of GL accounts, cost centers, or other GL master data according to defined work procedures.
\n\tPerforming and preparing manual General Ledger postings where necessary.
\n\tReviewing prepayment, deposit, lease, and general ledger accounts for accuracy.
\n\tMonitoring and clearing Accounts in conjunction with GBS that are the responsibility of the country.
\n\tProviding cost center support, reviewing and resolving queries with cost center managers.
\n\tCoordinating activities with GBS and CoEs to resolve entity queries.
\n\tReviewing and reperforming Royalties accruals\/journals.
\n\tPerforming HB1-related evaluations (plausibility checks) and postings.
\n\tMonitoring data quality, identifying required corrections, and performing adjustments for Royalties.
\n\tManaging and reconciling the intramovement account.
\n\tPreparing the sales reconciliation between the sales invoice listing and the general ledger for audit purposes.
\n\tSupporting allocated closing activities together with GBS organizations.
\n\tReviewing closing results, following up with the business, and performing manual postings where applicable.
\n\tPerforming monthly income statement and balance sheet checks.
\n\tManaging month-end closing activities and Trial Balance reviews with the Head of Accounting and Senior General Accountant.
\n\tAssisting with actual reporting in BayRep (HB2) according to defined activity splits (ATNs).
\n\tPerforming actual reporting HB1, including implementation of new regulations\/laws, and providing outputs to Senior General Accountant for joint legal entity reporting.
\n\tPerforming monthly actual reporting as per group reporting guidance.
\n\tImplementing group reporting guidance, e.g., BKA.
\n\tPreparing closing-relevant documentation required to align with the company implementation of new regulations\/laws.
\n\tPreparing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
\n\tSupporting external and internal audits, performing ICS controls within own area of expertise and responsibility.
\n\tProviding specialized ad hoc support and project assistance specific to own area of expertise.
\n\tProviding support with SARS and customs audits and requests for information.
\n\tIssuing manual ad hoc invoices for sale of assets and miscellaneous invoices.
\n\tInitiating and creating accounting posting requests (WPA) for postings.
\n\tAssisting with mandatory VAT and Customs audits for all refunds assessed and any SARS indirect tax\u2013related queries.
\n\tApplying fixed assets accounting knowledge in terms of IAS 16 and IFRS 16.<\/p>\n
