A challenging position for permanent Rehab Admissions Consultant exists at life Entabeni Rehabilitation unit – KZN. Reporting to the Rehabilitation Practice Manager, the Rehabilitation Admissions Consultant will be expected to engage with all internal and external stakeholders to create awareness, market the unit, assess and arrange admission of patients to the unit, case management and liaison with funders and more. \u00a0Life Rehabilitation at Entabeni Hospital is part of an expanding network of rehabilitation units within Life Healthcare.<\/p>\n
Critical Outputs<\/p>\n
\tTravel and conduct patient assessment at acute hospital or home and coordinate rehab admission for all for all patient referrals.
\n\tLiaise with funders to obtain authorization for admissions and ongoing case management during patient stay.
\n\tCommunicate effectively with the rehab team, funders and referring colleagues, patients and their families during the patients stay at the rehabilitation unit.
\n\tManage the rehab accounts and credit risk.
\n\tBuild positive relationships with referring doctors, nursing staff and funders.
\n\tPromote and grow new business and participate in the implementation of new products.
\n\tDevelop a marketing strategy for rehabilitation applicable to the catchment area, referral base and funders.
\n\tImplement the marketing strategy to promote and maintain a strategic relationship with all key internal and external stake holders.
\n\tCoordinate CPD events and special events and celebratory days.
\n\tCoordinate internal and external communication.
\n\tMaintain a referral and stakeholder data base.
\n\tPromote and maintain sound and productive relationships with referral sources and stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation.
\n\tActive participation in national RAC forum.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tRegistered Nurse or Therapist with current registration with HPCSA or SANC.
\n\tExcellent organizational skills essential.
\n\tComputer Literacy very essential.
\n\tKnowledge of accounts management essential.
\n\tExperience in hospital Case Management would be an advantage.
\n\tICD10 Coding \/CPT trained would be an advantage.
\n\tClinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery or rehabilitation would be an advantage.
\n\tAbility to liaise and build good working relationships (especially with referring specialists and hospitals).
\n\tKnowledge of the hospital industry and experience with Managed Care Organization, Medical Aids and Impilo.
\n\tOwn transport and valid drivers\u2019 license.
\n\tProof of Covid-19 vaccination.
\n\tResults orientation, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are very important for this position.<\/p>\n
