Maintenance Planner\u00a0(12 Month Contract)<\/p>\n
\tOur client is seeking an experienced\u00a0Maintenance Planner\u00a0to support mining operations in\u00a0Rustenburg, North West.\u00a0The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and maintain cost efficiency within a mining and processing environment.
\n\tThe successful candidate will contribute to improving maintenance execution and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.
\n\tThe organisation is a globally diversified mining and processing company, established in 2013, and is a leading producer of gold and platinum group metals (PGMs), with additional exposure to chrome and other by-product metals, as well as growing involvement in battery metals and recycling.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBEng \/ BSc \/ BTech \/ National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
\n\tProven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a plant or mining environment.
\n\tStrong working knowledge of CMMS \/ maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Pragma, or similar).
\n\tSolid understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and engineering standards.
\n\tExperience with fixed plant, processing equipment, and mobile mining equipment will be advantageous.
\n\tStrong analytical, organisational, and planning skills.
\n\tComputer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel).
\n\tMedically fit to work in a mining environment.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Roles & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor schedule compliance and provide feedback to improve planning effectiveness and execution efficiency.
\n\tCreate and manage work orders on the CMMS, ensuring accurate job scopes, required resources, and timelines.
\n\tCoordinate closely with maintenance teams, supervisors, and production to ensure smooth execution of planned work.
\n\tAnalyse equipment history and failure trends to optimise maintenance strategies and reduce downtime.
\n\tPrepare and coordinate shutdown and outage schedules to minimise disruption to production.
\n\tEnsure all maintenance activities comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and site-specific engineering standards.
\n\tLiaise with stores and procurement to confirm availability of required spares, tools, and materials prior to execution.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
\n\tMaintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation in line with operational requirements.
\n\tAssist with maintenance budgeting, cost control, and effective resource planning.
\n\tDevelop detailed maintenance plans and schedules, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
\n\tPromote and uphold a strong safety culture in all planning and maintenance-related activities.<\/p>\n
