\tBDO Business Services Outsourcing has a vacancy for a Senior Accountant who will help in maintaining\/managing portfolios of monthly and annual accounting clients.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Competencies:<\/p>\n
\tResponsibility for portfolio of clients (Individuals, Trust, Companies and Close Corporations)
\n\tPerform the following engagements Compilation Engagements in terms of ISRS 4410 Independent Review Engagements in terms of ISRE 2400 Accounting Officer Engagements in terms of Close Corporations Act
\n\tEnsuring that proper planning is performed before execution
\n\tEnsuring BDO SOPs are followed at all times\u00a0
\n\tReviewing working paper files performed by junior staff
\n\tProposing journals to client
\n\tCommunicating with clients and making engagement arrangements, discuss engagement results
\n\tAccounting duties Preparation, processing and maintenance of accounting records for numerous Individuals, Trust, Companies and Close Corporations from source documents\u00a0
\n\tBalance sheet reconciliations Preparation of audit files and finalization of accounts\u00a0
\n\tPreparation of monthly management accounts
\n\tProcessing monthly general journals
\n\tMonthly reconciliation of expenses\u00a0
\n\tDrafting financial statements in terms of relevant accounting disclosure requirements (IFRS and IFRS for SMEs) using CaseWare
\n\tPerforming tax computations for companies, close corporations and trusts (including SBC’s, special allowances (s12C, S12E, etc.))
\n\tPreparation and submission of statutory returns (VAT 201, EMP 201, EMP501 and return of earnings
\n\tManaging WIP and budgets on engagements\u00a0
\n\tUpdating manager and partner on progress of engagements\u00a0
\n\tMentoring junior staff both on the job and general
\n\tAssist other staff members where needed\u00a0
\n\tAttending to any other matters arising, such as tax queries etc in collaboration with other departments within the organisation
\n\tOutsourced assignments when needed\u00a0
\n\tSeek opportunities to grow department and client base
\n\tOther duties as may be required in line with the position\u00a0<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nSkills requirements: \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBCom Financial Accounting and Tax as majors (preferred Hons. BCom accounting but not a requirement) \u00a0
\n\t3-5 years\u2019 experience in an accounting\/similar organisation
\n\tCompeted SAIPA or SAICA articles preferred\u00a0
\n\tWorking knowledge of most commonly used accounting packages (for reporting purposes and ad-hoc processing)\u00a0
\n\tDetailed knowledge of CaseWare working papers\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tGood communication skills, internal and external, both written and verbal\u00a0
\n\tGood IT skills to grow the digitisation process within BDO
