About the job<\/p>\n
\tThis role is responsible for safeguarding personnel, assets, information, and business operations, including the management of reputational risk. The position holder will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive security programs across all Sanofi operations and business interests in South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia. This is a 12\u2011month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of renewal. The role reports to the Head of Security for Africa (Regional Security Head), based in South Africa.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
People Protection<\/p>\n
\tDefine and implement relevant security measures to ensure the safety of SANOFI employees, business travelers, non\u2011nationals, and their families.
\n\tAssess the country environment (risk and threat assessment).
\n\tImplement security awareness training programs for all employees.
\n\tConduct security audits for expatriate housing, offices, sites, etc.
\n\tMaintain records of security checks.
\n\tEnsure appropriate security setup during all company events.
\n\tManage and approve travel plans for international business travelers.
\n\tImplement security measures for international employees and their families during major events or periods of instability.
\n\tOrganize any required VIP protection for ExCom members, expatriates, and high\u2011risk personnel.
\n\tProvide a 24\/7 hotline for expatriate staff and their families, as well as travelers on mission and during planned events.
\n\tContact new international assignees in coordination with People & Culture.
\n\tProvide security briefings for traveling employees, VIEs, and expatriates.
\n\tCoordinate emergency assistance and lead evacuation procedures for international business travelers and expatriate families (Country Evacuation Plan).
\n\tSupport the evaluation of trustworthiness of domestic staff (where applicable).<\/p>\n
Products & Patients Protection<\/p>\n
\tReport product security issues (e.g., theft) and support incident management.
\n\tConduct market surveys and\/or sample purchasing before and after product launches.
\n\tPromote internal awareness on anti\u2011counterfeiting, falsification, and illicit trade.
\n\tCarry out AFIT investigations where required.
\n\tEnsure correct supply chain flow (storage, transportation, and destruction).<\/p>\n
Site & Asset Protection<\/p>\n
\tConduct comprehensive security risk assessments for all facilities and operations.
\n\tValidate site security documentation and assess enforcement of site security procedures.
\n\tSupervise the preparation and implementation of site security action plans.
\n\tMonitor, implement, and follow up on the Site Security Action Plan.
\n\tOversee security systems, access control, CCTV, and perimeter protection for all Sanofi facilities.
\n\tLead and manage the manned\u2011guarding security service provider.
\n\tPlan and deploy site security governance (organization, processes, systems, threat assessment, risk identification).
\n\tMaintain the effectiveness of physical building security measures through controls and regular self\u2011assessments.
\n\tDeploy Information Protection programs and policies on site (e.g., phishing campaigns, clear\u2011desk policy).
\n\tReport incidents and define security response measures.
\n\tSupport internal and external audits.
\n\tContribute, alongside Health, Safety & Environment and Sanofi Business Support & Facility Management, to site incident preparedness and response.
\n\tSupervise security tenders (security services and equipment) with Procurement.
\n\tParticipate in the selection of security services and monitor quality of execution.<\/p>\n
Information Protection<\/p>\n
\tFollow up on and reinforce information protection security guidelines.
\n\tIdentify risks of information leakage.
\n\tSupport security technology upgrades and advise on risk management strategies.
\n\tSupport data protection and privacy regulation policies.<\/p>\n
Crisis Management<\/p>\n
\tImplement Crisis Management processes and support Business Continuity Plans.
\n\tPrepare security crisis response plans according to identified risks.
\n\tExecute crisis management plans (including training and exercises).
\n\tFacilitate the Crisis Management Team during security incidents and emergencies.
\n\tDevelop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans and procedures (Emergency Response Plan).<\/p>\n
Global and Transversal Tasks<\/p>\n
\tContinuously update and adapt security measures to safeguard directors, employees, subcontractors, agents, representatives, and all activities and operations.
\n\tConduct accurate risk assessments to anticipate geopolitical crises.
\n\tImplement Global Security Policy and procedures.
\n\tCompile and implement local security workflow procedures.
\n\tKeep the Country Council informed of Corporate Security policies and procedures.
\n\tCoordinate with the Regional Security Head on relevant topics.
\n\tReport activities and incidents in the prescribed format and tools.
\n\tDevelop and manage the annual security budget for country operations.
\n\tProvide security support to all stakeholders.
\n\tReduce security incidents, deviations, and breaches year over year.
\n\tOversee effective threat intelligence and risk communication.
\n\tIdentify changes in site threats, risks, operations, and activities impacting the security of people, assets, and products.
\n\tLead investigations of security incidents, breaches, and violations where required.
\n\tEstablish security requirements and standards for security vendors and contractors.
\n\tEstablish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders (law enforcement, emergency services, government agencies, customs, security counterparts and providers, associations, and any other entities required by law).
\n\tParticipate in industry security forums and professional associations.<\/p>\n
About you<\/p>\n
Education:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tA bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent qualification in Security Management is advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of 3 years working as a corporate Security Manager
\n\tExperience in risk management is advantageous<\/p>\n
