\tThis career opportunity is available at Santam for a Senior Underwriter in the Echelon High Net Worth department and the successful incumbent will be based in Illovo, Sandton.<\/p>\n
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?<\/p>\n
\tUnderwrites policies according to the underwriting guidelines
\n\tConduct risk assessments and decide to accept or decline risk
\n\tRate policies in keeping with underwriting guidelines
\n\tGeneral enquiries such as but not limited to cover, products, processes etc.
\n\tNew business, renewals, endorsements and quotes
\n\tRequest, obtain and\/or provide brokers with all required information and\/or documents
\n\tAnalyse client’s portfolio
\n\tApply effective renewal terms and corrective action on completed or unprofitable policies
\n\tFile all relevant documentation electronically
\n\tCancellations (Follow retention processes)
\n\tRefunds and Raise invoices
\n\tAdhere to company mandates
\n\tParticipate and contribute in ad hoc projects
\n\tReport any suspected fraud , misrepresentation and\/or dishonesty
\n\tKeep accurate record of own activities<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12)
\n\tFAIS compliant
\n\tNQF Level 4 qualification in Short-Term Insurance
\n\tRegulatory Examination Level 5 (RE5)
\n\tMinimum of 1 year administrative experience
\n\tAt least 2 years\u2019 experience in personal lines underwriting<\/p>\n
