\tThe primary task is to ensure that all scheduled maintenance activities, performed during shutdown\u00a0periods,\u00a0are\u00a0attended\u00a0to\u00a0and\u00a0completed\u00a0in\u00a0time\u00a0and\u00a0accurately.\u00a0Any\u00a0breakdowns need\u00a0to\u00a0receive\u00a0immediate\u00a0attention\u00a0and\u00a0often\u00a0require\u00a0innovating\u00a0and\u00a0original\u00a0ideas\u00a0in\u00a0order to find solutions for sometimes complex problems.
\n\tRoutine mechanical maintenance on pumps, fans, motors (mechanical aspects), valves, compressors, building, hand tools, reactor components and systems as indicated in the various maintenance programs.
\n\tTasks relating to work that can be performed irrespective of reactor operation are for example, preparations for maintenance activities during shutdowns, installation and commissioning of equipment, production of small and modification of existing items, etc.
\n\tPurchasing – Controls purchasing of materials\/spares for all upgrades\/modifications and non-routine maintenance. Liaises with suppliers to ensure that the most suitable item or equipment is obtained at the best possible price.
\n\tSupport all members of the\u00a0maintenance team as required. Support with maintenance on radiation facilities.
\n\tRoutine and statutory inspections of pumps, fans, overhead cranes and ladders, building etc.
\n\tSupervision\u00a0and\u00a0assistance\u00a0to\u00a0riggers\u00a0during\u00a0inspections\u00a0of\u00a0lifting\u00a0equipment.
\n\tSupport\u00a0with\u00a0modification\u00a0of\u00a0reactor\u00a0components\u00a0and\u00a0equipment.
\n\tEnsure that\u00a0maintenance\u00a0equipment is in\u00a0good\u00a0state and\u00a0use\u00a0calibrated\u00a0equipment, when required.
\n\tPerform\u00a0specialised\u00a0task\u00a0as\u00a0requested\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0maintenance\u00a0request\u00a0programme.
\n\tFollow-up\u00a0preventive\u00a0and\u00a0corrective\u00a0actions\u00a0as\u00a0required from\u00a0the maintenance\u00a0request programme.
\n\tManufacture\u00a0of\u00a0small\u00a0items\u00a0and\u00a0components\u00a0w.r.t.\u00a0the\u00a0above\u00a0mentioned.
\n\tReport\u00a0on\u00a0event\u00a0\/\u00a0non-conformances\u00a0investigation.
\n\tMaintain an\u00a0effective documentation\u00a0and records\u00a0system\u00a0on\u00a0completed\u00a0maintenance work.
\n\tPrepare\u00a0work\u00a0procedures\u00a0and\u00a0checklists\u00a0(i.e.\u00a0commissioning\u00a0\u2013plans,\u00a0calibration\u00a0checklists, work procedures, etc.), including the updating of mechanical drawings.
\n\tAssist and support with ensuring the continual upgrading and revision of the relevant mechanical maintenance documentation and programs (RR-MPR-0003, etc.)
\n\tAdministrate the maintenance store(s) to ensure that critical items are available and controlled as required.
\n\tProvide training to all groups concerned in SAFARI-1 regarding new and existing equipment and maintenance programmes.
\n\tSupport QHSE management system requirements and continuously ensure compliance through ISO and other standards. Also provide support during compliance audits, both internal and external.
\n\tKeep abreast of developments in own subject by attending colloquia, courses, training sessions and through literature<\/p>\n

\tQualified Mechanical Fitter Artisan.
\n\tValid\u00a0code\u00a008\u00a0drivers\u00a0licence\u00a0and\u00a0own\u00a0transport.
\n\tThe\u00a0incumbent\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0medically\u00a0fit\u00a0to\u00a0qualify\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0radiation\u00a0worker\u00a0and\u00a0chemical\u00a0worker.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t1- 2 years\u2019 experience in mechanical maintenance in nuclear and support facilities\u00a0with\u00a0knowledge\u00a0of\u00a0aspects\u00a0related\u00a0to\u00a0quality\u00a0assurance\u00a0and\u00a0environmental\u00a0control systems (regulatory and legislative requirements) in a nuclear facility.
\n\tMachining\u00a0experience\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0definite\u00a0requirement.
\n\tComputer\u00a0literate.
