\nKey Performance Output<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Manager Traffic Development, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
\tSupport evaluation of market opportunity for new routes taking into account pre-identified target markets, network strategy and analysis of competitive environment.
\n\tReview and analyse research in order to identify new route development opportunities.
\n\tDevelop business cases for proposed new routes and provide guidance on possible limitations and deterrents such as regulatory\/political limitations or lack of Air Service Agreements for the route.
\n\tWork with other internal divisions to finalise route characterization sheet (Route factsheet) to be used to establish preliminary contact with potential candidate airlines.
\n\tWork with marketing to promote and drive route development by attending relevant global and regional route events and conferences.
\n\tSupport Traffic Development Lead in the strategic identification of opportunities in partnership with other Business Development Leads and Corporate Strategy office.
\n\tEngage with the state administration and airlines in order to address regulatory impediments\/barriers and identify possible solutions.
\n\tAssess validity of existing Air Service Agreements and propose changes to existing Air Service Agreements based on assessment of validity.
\n\tSupport the Air Service Agreements negotiation process and the preparation and signing of Air Service Agreement documents.
\n\tSupport final viability assessment of the implementation of the new route\/s at the specific airport\/s based on the potential adaption measures and the implementation plan.
\n\tEngage with route stakeholder for the specific purpose of demand creation in both target and local markets.
\n\tProvide support to Airport General Managers in the relationship with the local bodies.
\n\tEngage with Tourism Authorities, Department of Tourism, Chamber of Commerce and other State entities in order to partner for demand creation for the specific purpose of route development.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelors\u2019 Degree (4 years \u2013 480 credits) in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Informatics or Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Transport Economics- NQF 8 is essential.\u00a0
\n\t6-8 years Aviation Sector (Airline\/Airport Industry) management experience is essential.
\n\tRoute Development Forecasting Tools (APG.Net, Profit Manager, Beontra B Route Development) is recommended.
\n\tAirport IS\/ MIDT\/ Industry Related tools is recommended.
\n\tMS Office at intermediate level.<\/p>\n
