A dynamic Agricultural Seed Producer is seeking a high-performing, experienced Area Sales Manager to lead and grow the company’s commercial footprint in Mpumalanga and the Free State. This senior regional leadership role focuses on driving sales growth, managing and developing agents and sales representatives, and strengthening commercial and retail networks across key seed portfolios.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements for the role:<\/p>\n
\tMust have a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics or a related field
\n\tMinimum 5 years’ proven experience in agriculture
\n\tStrong technical knowledge of maize and soybean markets is essential
\n\tEstablished relationships within the Mpumalanga and Free State agricultural sectors is advantageous
\n\tProven leadership and team management experience
\n\tStrong commercial and financial acumen
\n\tMust have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively within the region<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tLeading, managing, mentoring, and developing regional agents and sales representatives to achieve high performance.
\n\tDriving and consistently delivering regional sales targets across the maize, soybean, dry bean, and pasture seed portfolios.
\n\tDeveloping and expanding the commercial and retail customer base in Mpumalanga and Free State.
\n\tConducting regular farm visits and effectively managing key strategic accounts.
\n\tExecuting product positioning, hybrid placement strategies, and technical recommendations.
\n\tCoordinating trial feedback, agronomic insights, and market intelligence with the Agronomy Division.
\n\tMonitoring competitor activity, pricing strategies, and emerging market trends.
\n\tManaging regional sales forecasting, budgeting, and stock planning to optimize availability and minimize risk.
\n\tSupporting debtor management, credit control, and collection processes within the region.
\n\tOrganizing and executing farmer days, product demonstrations, and promotional campaigns.
\n\tEnsuring strong brand visibility, retail execution standards, and in-store merchandising excellence.
\n\tCompiling and submitting accurate monthly performance, sales, and market reports.
\n\tIdentifying and pursuing new growth opportunities and potential expansion areas in the region.
\n\tBuilding and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders, cooperatives, and retailers.<\/p>\n
