Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tThe SED & Community Engagement Manager will be accountable and responsible to own, proactively engage and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including community leaders, government, Gaming Boards, etc.) with the aim of ensuring that Sun\u2019s relationships with the local communities are strong, offer shared value and sustainable socio-economic development.
\n\tThe role will include the planning and delivery of SED and ED &SD projects in collaboration with Group SED and Procurement with the objective of connecting company success with social progress and facilitating income generating activities and mentorship for targeted beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
Delivered Unit SED \/ ED Plans & Reports<\/p>\n
\tAct as a Subject Matter Expert on issues of SED \/ ED for the resort
\n\tConduct BBBEE impact assessments for the business unit and develop SED \/ ED business plans, key objectives and an annual schedule around the delivery of projects for the units
\n\tCreate opportunities to maximize recognition on the BBBEE SED and ED pillars.
\n\tDesign and provide recommendations on SED \/ ED project plans and projects
\n\tReport on project progress and results for the business unit
\n\tCollect the required data to successfully complete BBBEE file for verification process
\n\tVerify the authenticity, validity and correctness of all documentation submitted for verification
\n\tPlan, prepare and manage BBBEE verification audits
\n\tProvide training and coaching to functional managemen
\n\tProvide input to SED \/ ED budget requirements and expense control for the business units
\n\tTrack and report on BBBEE SED and ED spend and scoring for the business unit(s), ensuring that the relevant back-up information is available and easily accessible
\n\tKeep up to date with latest legislation, regulations and leading practice in the area of SED \/ ED and the impact for the organization
\n\tAct as an advisor to business operations with recommendations for compliance on issues of BBEEE SED compliance; ethical standards and Company\u2019s bid commitments in this regard\u00a0<\/p>\n
Community Engagement\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tNetwork with key community leaders and stakeholders to understand community challenges
\n\tConduct an analysis of needs in the local communities, identify gaps to be addressed and influence SED initiatives to be implemented for the resort Receive proposals and collaborate with Group SED team to research the financial viability and long-term sustainability around specific projects to create shared value (CSV) with the community\u00a0
\n\tCollaborate with management and communities around SED \/ ED business plans and key objectives to support the improvement and optimization of SED \/ ED practices
\n\tDesign and develop detailed SED \/ ED project plans and projects, including milestones, timelines and budgets to be achieved
\n\tEngage with communities to understand their expectations and level of satisfaction around specific project or implementation requirements
\n\tIdentify any gaps, challenges or feelings of dissatisfaction and facilitate the resolution of these concerns
\n\tLiaise on a regular basis with community leaders to build positive and sustainable relationships.
\n\tFacilitate the sign off of implementation plans and contractual agreements in line with community officials\u2019 expectations
\n\tWork with communities, SED and ED projects teams to ensure the resolution of any outstanding issues in line with timelines and expectations\u00a0
\n\tBe the point of contact for clients for any outstanding issues to ensure implementation is aligned to agreement and expectations
\n\tOversee the co-ordination, allocation and reconciliation of project expenses, ensuring the resolution of any queries\u00a0
\n\tDrive the delivery against objectives and level of satisfaction following the event, booking or projects
\n\tPromote SI\u2019s participation on CSV within the media, including participation at local media events<\/p>\n
SED \/ ED Project Planning<\/p>\n
\tDevelop a business case and project plans for resort SED and ED projects.
\n\tWork with Community and business stakeholders on obtaining confirmation of project definition, costing and budget
\n\tCreate a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
\n\tDetermine the resources required to complete the project
\n\tPrepare a detailed budget per project in collaboration with Finance
\n\tDevelop and continuously review the schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
\n\tDetermine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
\n\tDevelop a benefits realization plan that will be managed throughout the programme to ensure that planned benefits always have owners and are achieved, sustained and optimized.
\n\tPrepare and submit for in-principal approval the business case, providing essential decision-making information regarding purpose, contribution to business objectives, expected value created, time frames, etc.\u00a0
\n\tEstablish and maintain a formal, approved integrated project plan to guide project execution and control throughout the life of the project<\/p>\n
SED\u00a0\/ ED Project Management<\/p>\n
\tLaunch and drive projects to acquire and direct the resources needed to accomplish the goals and benefits of the project as defined in the plan
\n\tManage the delivery of a project by making key decisions and assigning and coordinating resources.
\n\tPrepare for reviews to report on the progress of the project
\n\tDevelop forms and records to document project activities, ensuring completion of close out forms at the end of the project\u00a0
\n\tSet up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
\n\tMonitor and control projects (solution delivery) and (benefit\/outcome) performance against plan throughout the project life cycle
\n\tMonitor and track all budgeted project expenditures
\n\tMaintain SED \/ ED management registers and spend in line with regulatory requirements
\n\tHighlight SED \/ ED risks and make recommendations to address non-conformance as per BBBEE requirements, regulations and company policy
\n\tFollow-up and measure action plans and recommendations
\n\tUpdate reporting and SED \/ ED spend templates and submit monthly SED \/ ED reports for the business unit
\n\tReport to the CSI and ED Trusts on progress with project<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tMaintain regular communication (e.g. communicates product performance) with Group SED and procurement management to gather relevant data and information and provide feedback on progress
\n\tBuilds credibility through developing strong working relationships with the community and management
\n\tMaintain and develop networks with regional communities, and local government and Gaming Boards and build relationships to ensure a fair and accurate understanding of community challenges, expectations around bid commitments, etc. **
\n\tDeliver high-priority information and shares important information from a social and public perception with management
\n\tCommunicates with internal stakeholders at property level on strategic SED and ED activities and plans, ensuring full understanding for implementation
\n\tLiaise with Group Sustainability, Communications and Marketing departments to ensure synergy on objectives, SED and ED campaigns and messaging
\n\tCollaborate with the Group SED, Procurement and unit teams with regards project planning, implementation, progress and cost management
\n\tRespond to queries efficiently and resolve to the satisfaction of the affected parties within the scope of authority and \/ or responsibility
\n\tReports and provides feedback to management and BBBEE Committee on projects implementation and progress
\n\tBe the Group contact for SED and ED service providers and external stakeholders and authorities on SED \/ ED projects
\n\tPrepare for and facilitate unit Sustainability committee meetings as required<\/p>\n
Job Requirements<\/p>\n
Education<\/p>\n
\t3-Year Diploma or a Bachelor\u2019s degree in business management
\n\tCertification in BBBEE requirements is an advantage<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in SED and or ED Management
\n\tTrack record in developing strong relationships and community networks<\/p>\n
