Qualifying Criteria :<\/p>\n
\tGrade 10.11 or equivalent ABET Level
\n\tMQA Competency B Certificate
\n\tRock Drill Certificate of Competence as recognised by the MQA
\n\tProficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
\n\tApplicant must possess good verbal communication skills
\n\tMust be able to communicate in English
\n\tFluency in any of the 11 Official languages
\n\tAbility to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
\n\tMust be deadline-driven with the ability to work under pressure
\n\tMust have experience working underground
\n\tApplicant must possess written and verbal communication skills
\n\tSouth African Citizenship
\n\tClear Criminal Record
\n\tMust be declared medically fit by our Occupational Health Centre.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Responsibilities :<\/p>\n
\tWork a rotation of shifts
\n\tPerform all the duties safely as trained by our training centre
\n\tBe observant of the condition of equipment and materials used to ensure company standards are met \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tPromptly report any possible problems that may cause work obstruction
\n\tMust be able to determine the cleanliness of the workplace and adhere to housekeeping standards and procedures \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tComply with proper Health and Safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when performing various duties underground)
\n\tHearing Protective devices are always to be worn while drilling operations are in progress, as well as any other P.P.E. which is prescribed. (Safety belts in steep areas)
\n\tFrequent examinations of the immediate hanging face and sidewall are to be conducted. If additional barring is required or in your opinion, the area appears unsafe, call the Miner or Team Leader to investigate and make it safe
\n\tDo not remove any support without the instructions of the Miner
\n\tEnsure hoses and fittings are properly secured at their attachment points
\n\tInstall gate stulls between yourself and other machine crew or workers in steeply dipping areas or where there is danger of rolling rocks
\n\tDrill on the marks and direction lines that the Miner draws
\n\tEnsure that you are working in an area where support is installed according to the Mine\u2019s Standards, at all times
\n\tYour attention is drawn to the content of the Mine\u2019s Standard Procedure
\n\tPerform any related duties as may be required from time to time by a supervisor
\n\tAdhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group\u2019s safety motto: \u201cNothing is so important that it cannot be done safely\u201d
