Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tThe manager will handle both electrical compliance for imports and certification of wireless products, working with regulatory bodies like the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) and the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
NRCS Compliance for Electrical Imports<\/p>\n
\tEnsuring imported electrical products comply with NRCS compulsory specifications, particularly VC 8055 covering safety and energy efficiency requirements.
\n\tCoordinating pre-market approvals, securing Letters of Authority (LOAs), and verifying compliance with applicable standards such as SANS\/IEC 60335 for household appliances.
\n\tManaging electrical safety and EMC testing and audits, including coordination with accredited inspection bodies such as NRCS Electrotechnical.<\/p>\n
ICASA Type Approval for Wireless Products<\/p>\n
\tManaging ICASA type approval for products incorporating Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or other radio technologies.
\n\tPreparing and submitting RF application documentation, including conformance test reports from accredited laboratories, to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
\n\tSecuring approvals prior to importation to prevent delays during customs clearance.<\/p>\n
Liaison and Coordination<\/p>\n
\tExtensive engagement with regulatory authorities (NRCS, ICASA), customs officials (SARS), and importers.
\n\tFacilitating compliance documentation, responding to regulatory and customs queries, and supporting smooth customs clearance.
\n\tContinuously monitoring and staying informed of regulatory updates due to the evolving nature of standards and specifications.<\/p>\n
Documentation and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMaintaining accurate and complete records for audit purposes and regulatory reporting.
\n\tEnsuring all Letters of Authority (LOAs), test reports, and certification documents are properly filed and maintained.<\/p>\n
Regulatory Knowledge<\/p>\n
\tIn-depth knowledge of South African import regulations, SANS standards, NRCS VC 8055, and ICASA type approval requirements.
\n\tStrong understanding of customs procedures and the regulatory interaction between NRCS and SARS in import control.<\/p>\n
ISO and Legal requirements<\/p>\n
\tComply to all quality, information security, legislative and company policy requirements.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tMatric
\n\tDegree in Electrical Engineering or related qualification
\n\tAt least 5years in technical\/regulatory compliance, telecoms\/Electronics field<\/p>\n
Skills and Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tMust know and understand the product cycle at Mustek
\n\tMust be familiar with Epicor
\n\tRegulatory compliance, preferably in electrical or telecommunications sectors
\n\tStrong knowledge of South African import regulations, SANS standards, NRCS VC 8055, and ICASA processes
