About the Role<\/p>\n
\tUnifi Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and inquisitive Business Analyst to support product development across all domains. In close collaboration with Product Owners and business stakeholders, you\u2019ll help bridge business needs and technical delivery\u2014ensuring we build impactful, user-focused products across South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya.
\n\tThis is a hands-on, cross-functional role ideal for someone who enjoys unpacking complex systems, translating business challenges into clear requirements, and supporting execution with solid documentation, analysis, and solution design.
\n\tYou\u2019ll gain exposure to the full spectrum of our microlending business\u2014from credit and collections to client acquisition, onboarding, and system integrations.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with Product Owners to understand, generate, and document business requirements through workshops, interviews, and analysing relevant data.
\n\tAssist in creating solution design documents, user stories, wireframes, and process flows to support software development.
\n\tAnalyse current state processes and contribute to designing future state solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
\n\tDefine and maintain business rules and configuration parameters across various product areas and systems.
\n\tFacilitate alignment between cross-functional teams\u2014including development, credit, data, and operations\u2014to ensure shared understanding of scope and objectives.
\n\tSupport testing and validation by preparing test cases and verifying functionality against business requirements.
\n\tContribute to backlog grooming and sprint planning, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and development-ready.
\n\tMaintain structured documentation and internal knowledge bases (e.g., Confluence, Google Sites) to support team alignment and institutional knowledge.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
\n\t2\u20135 years of experience in business analysis, product support, or functional consulting\u2014ideally within the financial services or technology sectors.
\n\tSolid understanding of business process analysis, requirements discovery, and documentation best practices.
\n\tFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
\n\tProficient in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and validation to support business and technical solutions.
\n\tStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
\n\tSkilled in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Google Sheets, or equivalent platforms.
\n\tHighly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and methodical in approach to problem-solving.
\n\tExperience in the African financial services landscape is a plus.
