{"id":32711,"date":"2026-03-26T14:00:39","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T14:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/head-of-division-business-development\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T00:24:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T00:24:36","slug":"head-of-division-business-development","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=32711","title":{"rendered":"Head of Division: Business Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Advert Summary\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tGuided by its purpose to provide products for patients to alleviate pain and suffering and improve their quality of life, NBI\u2019s vision is to be the leading African manufacturer and supplier of quality therapeutic proteins and diagnostic products.<br \/>\n\tNational Bioproducts Institute NPC has a vacancy for the role of Head of Division: Business Development.<\/p>\n<p>The successful incumbent will be requried:<\/p>\n<p>\tTo direct the marketing and business development strategy of NBI to meet its vision and mission so as to ensure sufficiency of appropriate affordable and accessible plasma derived medicines for patients, predominately in South Africa and the rest of the African region.<br \/>\n\tTo identify new business opportunities and product design options.<br \/>\n\tTo grow the Biotechnology market and direct the business focus and business development of this division in order to broaden NBI\u2019s footprint and ensure sustainable market expansion<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Sales or Business Development<br \/>\n\tAdditional qualification in medical\/paramedical field will be advantageous<br \/>\n\tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience at executive level.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrated track record in the successful marketing of pharmaceutical products.<br \/>\n\tProven experience in business development, including the negotiation and conclusion of commercial agreements for pharmaceutical products<\/p>\n<p>Duties &amp; Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\nStrategy, Marketing and Sales<\/p>\n<p>\tFormulate and implement approved Marketing strategy for company.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and manage the new product pipeline and expanded the supply and distribution of NBI products.<br \/>\n\tDirect the management of all Business Development functions.<br \/>\n\tSource and analyse marketing intelligence, providing strategic insights to the Executive Team on current and emerging products, markets and business opportunities aligned with the organisation\u2019s strategic priorities.<br \/>\n\tIdentifying and evaluating relevant tender opportunities.<br \/>\n\tDevelopment of an export pricing strategy.<br \/>\n\tManage marketing and sales of Biotechnology products.<br \/>\n\tDetermining product pricing to meet revenue requirements while remaining competitive, and meeting pricing objectives of the Department of Health and compile the necessary submissions e.g. SEP.<br \/>\n\tIdentify business opportunities in keeping with NBI\u2019s vision, mission and values while developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve new business sales targets and results.<br \/>\n\tPreparation of proposals, new business estimates and business development reports.<br \/>\n\tContribute to NBI\u2019s internal marketing strategy.<br \/>\n\tDistribution channel analysis and development in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Administration and Research<\/p>\n<p>\tKeep abreast of industry developments and clinical use of NBI products using competitive intelligence gathering techniques including personal contacts, internet, journals.<br \/>\n\tCompile relevant company reports as required.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Management<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop multi-year sales forecast and revenue budget<br \/>\n\tConsolidate and present annual Divisional Budget for approval<br \/>\n\tManage cost centre budget<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Stakeholder Liaison<\/p>\n<p>\tRepresent NBI at national, international industry, patient interest group and Department of Health forums as appropriate.<br \/>\n\tBuild strategic relationships with key external stakeholders to optimise business opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>People Management<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide strategic leadership by actively contributing to and supporting NBI\u2019s people management agenda.<br \/>\n\tEstablish clear divisional and individual objectives that support NBI\u2019s strategic objectives.<br \/>\n\tLead, motivate and develop team members to ensure the division consistently delivers on its objectives.<br \/>\n\tDrive a high-performance culture through robust performance evaluation, constructive feedback and timely implementation of corrective or developmental interventions.<br \/>\n\tIdentify learning and development priorities that build capacity.<br \/>\n\tChampion transformation by supporting the execution of NBI\u2019s EE plan as well as diversity and inclusion<\/p>\n<p>Core Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tLeading and Influencing Others<br \/>\n\tManaging Relationships<br \/>\n\tPersonal Leadership<br \/>\n\tBusiness Impact<br \/>\n\tPerformance management<br \/>\n\tStrong commercial acumen<br \/>\n\tAdvanced negotiation and influencing skills<br \/>\n\tHighly persuasive with the ability to drive strategic outcomes<br \/>\n\tExcellent planning and organising abilities<br \/>\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills<br \/>\n\tEffective written and verbal communication skills<br \/>\n\tInnovation and initiative<br \/>\n\tLeadership capacity<br \/>\n\tInterpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>nbisa.erecruit.co<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/nbisa.erecruit.co","_company_name":"National Bioproducts Institute","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"NBI is a private, non-profit, pharmaceutical manufacturer of human plasma-derived medicinal products.
