Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
Plant Operations\/Manufacturing:<\/p>\n
\tOperate the plant in line with approved work instructions, guidelines and procedures.
\n\tMonitor process trends and SPC data to ensure the production process is within operating parameters and correct if required.
\n\tAllocate and manage resources and coordinate activities to meet production schedules.
\n\tMonitor process trends and SPC data to ensure the production process is within operating parameters.
\n\tEnsure staff operate the plant according to approved work instructions.
\n\tEnsure effective housekeeping
\n\tMonitor the effective usage of utilities
\n\tMonitor stock levels to ensure that the inventory is kept up to date and suitable for meeting production targets and goals as agreed on.
\n\tCoordinating production morning meetings.
\n\tEnsure BSC are in place and evaluated as per requirement.
\n\tParticipate in the non-routine risk assessment tasks with SHEQ stakeholders.
\n\tControl critical raw material ratios to ensure profitability of products.
\n\tOversee quality assurance on all raw material and final products.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Financial management and Budgeting<\/p>\n
\tSubmit annual budget and obtain approval.
\n\tApply appropriate financial controls to ensure expenditure levels are prudent, and wastage is limited.<\/p>\n
Plant Control:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure at least one job observation on work instructions are done monthly.
\n\tReview and update work instructions.
\n\tGenerate operations report per shift worked and communicate effectively to relevant parties. Plant readings and checklist as required.
\n\tEnsure plant control samples as per schedule are executed.
\n\tReport all defects to the necessary discipline using the COSWIN system and prescribed documentation.<\/p>\n
Compliance with SHEQ requirements<\/p>\n
\tEnsure hazardous work permits are in place as required in the workplace.
\n\tEnsure PPE is in a good condition and correctly worn in the workplace.
\n\tExecute PPE inspections according to procedure monthly.
\n\tEnsure specialized PPE are stored according to requirements
\n\tReport sub-standard equipment and safety issues.
\n\tEnsure the adherence of statutory training for his team are up to date.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 – Maths and Physical Science<\/p>\n
OR<\/p>\n
\tN3 with Maths\u00a0 and Physical Science<\/p>\n
OR<\/p>\n
\tNCV Level 4 Maths and Physical Science
\n\tDriver\u2019s license
\n\t8 to 10 years in 24-hour chemical plant operations would be an advantage for this position.<\/p>\n
