Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tTo assist the Qualitative Specialist Scientist with:
\n\tSupport and assist with data collection activities (interviews\/ focus group discussions)
\n\tTranslate and transcribe interview\/ focus group discussion recordings
\n\tTranslate study material in English and isiXhosa
\n\tAnalyze and interpret qualitative study results
\n\tQualitative data management
\n\tMaintain tracking logs
\n\tData quality checks\u00a0
\n\tAssist in training of field staff where needed
\n\tPresenting at internal meetings\/ journal clubs\/ workshops
\n\tDeveloping manuscripts and\/or conference abstracts<\/p>\n
Core Requirements:<\/p>\n
\t4-year tertiary qualification in Social Sciences \/ Development Studies \/ Public Health and Masters’ registration
\n\tAt least 2 years\u2019 experience conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus group discussions)
\n\tAt least 1 year experience analyzing qualitative data
\n\tExperience in field of sexual and reproductive health research and\/or programmes
\n\tExperience writing manuscripts \/ conference abstracts \/ developing research outputs.
\n\tExperience in working and supporting a team.
\n\tExcellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
\n\tExperience in presenting a scientific matter to a lay audience (e.g., school).<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tExperience working in collaborative qualitative analysis teams
\n\tExperience in HIV prevention \/ sexual and reproductive health studies
\n\tExperience with translation of isiXhosa to English
\n\tExperience with recruitment of study participants
\n\tExperience writing papers and conducting literature reviews<\/p>\n
