What will you do?<\/p>\n
\tThe role of the underwriter is to assess the risk of our clients based on their individual risk profile (this includes consideration of insurable interest, occupation, medical, financial, part-time activities & travel\/territorial risk).<\/p>\n
Core outputs:<\/p>\n
\tUnderwrite risk applications with respect to the client overall risk profile – taking into account previous &\/or existing cover.
\n\tUnderwrite & effectively manage communication on sub-standard cases.
\n\tRequest underwriting requirements and\/or limit requirements.
\n\tPlacement of cases according to reassurance treaty and related guidelines.
\n\tEnhance & manage the customer experience through effective, clear & proactive communication &\/or collaboration (both written & telephonic)
\n\tStay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in AI and analytics.
\n\tContinuously build expertise on underwriting process & technical skills\/knowledge.<\/p>\n
What will make you successful in this role?<\/p>\n
Qualification:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12.
\n\tRelevant qualification will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 years medical and\/or financial underwriting experience.
\n\tExperience in underwriting processes will be an advantage.
\n\tExposure to underwriting software\/programs will be an advantage.
\n\tExposure to the application of underwriting and re-insurance policy will be an advantage.
\n\tExposure to financial underwriting and\/or business insurance will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
Knowledge:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of prognosis of medical conditions.
\n\tUnderstand medical terminology (anatomy and physiology).
\n\tIn-depth knowledge and understanding of financial statements and questionnaires.<\/p>\n
