\tAltGen is looking for a skilled Senior Proposal Manager to join an engineering firm based in Centurion, Gauteng.
\n\tThe role will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the proposal development process for HV substation OHL projects. This includes leading a team of proposal engineers, coordinating with various internal departments, developing winning proposal strategies, ensuring compliance with company standards and client specifications, and managing the proposal budget.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Proposal Strategy & Planning: <\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement winning proposal strategies, including identifying key differentiators, understanding client needs, and positioning our company for success.
\n\tLead proposal kick-off meetings and develop detailed proposal schedules and resource plans.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Management:<\/p>\n
\tLead and mentor a team of Proposal Engineers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
\n\tAssign responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of tasks.<\/p>\n
Proposal Development Oversight: Oversee the entire proposal development process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality technical and commercial proposals. This includes:<\/p>\n
\tReviewing and approving technical solutions and cost estimates.
\n\tEnsuring proposals are compliant with company governance, standards, client requirements, and relevant regulations.
\n\tManaging the proposal budget and resources.<\/p>\n
Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate closely with various internal departments, including:<\/p>\n
\tEngineering (Design, Protection, Civil, etc.)
\n\tProcurement
\n\tConstruction
\n\tFinance
\n\tLegal<\/p>\n
Client Relationship Management: <\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations.
\n\tParticipate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations.<\/p>\n
Risk Management: <\/p>\n
\tIdentify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with each project and develop mitigation strategies.<\/p>\n
Contract Negotiation Support: <\/p>\n
\tSupport the negotiation of contracts with clients, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.<\/p>\n
Post-Bid Analysis: <\/p>\n
\tAnalyse proposal win\/loss data and identify areas for improvement in the proposal process. Develop and implement process improvements.<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement:<\/p>\n
\tDrive the continuous improvement of proposal processes, templates, and tools.
\n\tCandy system experience is preferred.<\/p>\n
Requirements: <\/p>\n
\tBSc. or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
\n\t3-5 years of experience in proposal preparation and management for HV substation EPC projects.
\n\tDeep understanding of HV substation design, equipment, construction practices, and project management.
\n\tFamiliarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
\n\tProficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word) and PDF software (Foxit\/Adobe).
\n\tKnowledge of various types of contracts to ensure commercial\/legal compliance with quotation submissions.
\n\tCommercial and\/or Project Management experience is advantageous.<\/p>\n
