{"id":32841,"date":"2026-03-28T08:02:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T08:02:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/manager-centre-for-academic-success\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T08:02:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T08:02:29","slug":"manager-centre-for-academic-success","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/manager-centre-for-academic-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Manager: Centre for Academic Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Key Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Leadership, management, and execution of the academic success strategy<\/p>\n<p>\tConstructively participate in all campus Manco meetings<br \/>\n\tShare the academic success plan with campus Manco, plan the implementation and resourcing of the academic success activities and report to campus Manco on progress against achievements.<br \/>\n\tContribute to the annual budget discussions in support of academic success on the campuses, including library services.<br \/>\n\tPublicize and implement academic success initiatives on the campus for staff and students in line with the Academic Success Strategy and Plan<br \/>\n\tEnsure the cooperation of relevant role players in the academic success activities on the campus.<br \/>\n\tExecute policies, norms, guidelines, and procedures relevant to academic success on the campus including Academic success norms (including library norms), Performance Agreements with the campus Librarian, LT staff, and possible Academic Success Coordinators in the C4AS, in consultation with functional line managers<br \/>\n\tManage the Programme Officers, where appropriate, in the execution of their functional responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Design and implement academic success initiatives<\/p>\n<p>\tPlan and execute academic success imperatives and initiatives for the campus to fulfil the following imperatives per the STADIO Academic Success strategy, and in collaboration with the Head: Academic Success and the team of C4As managers:<\/p>\n<p>Transition into higher education:<\/p>\n<p>\tBridge the gap between school and higher education for the school-leaver.<br \/>\n\tAssist adult learners to re-orientate themselves with entry into higher education.<br \/>\n\tIndependently and in cooperation with the schools on the campus, implement fundamental literacies, bridging programmes, and remedial activities on the campus to support the principles of access with success.<\/p>\n<p>Transition through higher education:<\/p>\n<p>\tPromote the principles of student-centredness as set out in the STADIO student journey.<br \/>\n\tPlan and execute the academic orientation of new students and returning students on the campus.<br \/>\n\tImplement the regular schedule of academic success skills training for students on the campus and maintain a record of student participation.<br \/>\n\tMonitor the library training plans on the campus.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate academic success professional development training interventions for staff on the campus.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with the schools to execute the deliverables to achieve proactive support for students at risk.<br \/>\n\tManage the interventions focused on student retention on the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Transition from higher education into the world of work:<\/p>\n<p>\tImplement training interventions to provide students with the necessary further skills and holistic development that will prepare them for the workplace (as part of the weekly training schedule)<br \/>\n\tImplement the diagnostics tests\/assessments on the campus according to the performance targets in the Academic Success Plan<br \/>\n\tIdentify internship opportunities for students and update the Canvas Page for internships, job vacancies, etc. for the campus on the Academic Success portal.<\/p>\n<p>Analyse academic success data<\/p>\n<p>\tAnalyse the reports from the various institutional surveys and diagnostic tools and develop improvement plans and interventions for the campus.<br \/>\n\tProvide an annual report on the efficacy of diagnostic tools and whether there was a benefit for participating students.<br \/>\n\tAnalyse the First Year Student Profile Report and propose improvements to the campus Manco and Schools via the Academic Managers<br \/>\n\tMonitor and report on the effectiveness of literacy and academic development initiatives that have been integrated into curricula;
