\tPurpose of the Job: The\u00a0Officer: Logistics Management\u00a0is responsible for the maintenance of logistics operations within RAF and to implement processes of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient, cost-effective flow of materials, in process inventory, finished goods , assets and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer (internal\/external) requirements.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
Logistics Management<\/p>\n
\tDraft needs assessment plan for dealing with issues such as identifying future needs (forecasting); frequency of need; linking requirements to the division\u2019s budget; conduct an expenditure analysis and conducting market analysis.
\n\tResearch and check to determine that goods\/services to be procured have\u00a0not already been provided for or transferred from another location.
\n\tAssist in the categorization of applications received from Service\u00a0Providers\/Vendors, referring to regulatory mechanisms and procedural\u00a0guidelines to differentiate and\/or allocate applications.
\n\tAssess value for money in terms of quotations received.
\n\tEnsure that the department correctly apply principles of PFMA and\u00a0Treasury regulations with acquisitions.
\n\tIdentify the ideal source of procurement and the best suited service\u00a0providers to deliver on the requirements.
\n\tImplement logistics management processes and procedures.<\/p>\n
Fleet Management<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the identification and purchasing vehicles for deliveries and service.
\n\tContribute to the maintenance of detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
\n\tParticipate in the booking of servicing and maintenance when required to\u00a0minimize downtime and maintain schedules.<\/p>\n
Disposal Management<\/p>\n
\tReceive the list of approved items for disposal from Asset Management.
\n\tArrange for the Service Provider to view the disposal Assets.
\n\tParticipate and monitor the physical collection of asset items by Security officials.
\n\tCompile Asset Disposal reconciliation reports after execution of the approved disposal method and submit to senior for verification.<\/p>\n
Reporting<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the preparation and submission of regulation reports.
\n\tContribute to the development of function reporting systems for management, project or performance reporting.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tAssist with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tContribute to the maintenance of relationships with vendors, service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree\/Advanced Diploma in Logistics Management \/ Supply Chain Management\/ Finance related qualification.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tRelevant 3 years\u2019 experience in a Logistics Management related environment.
\n\tExperience in the Administration of Asset Disposal.
\n\tExperience in procurement\/ supply chain management within SoEs will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
