Job Description<\/p>\n
\tOptimi is looking for a detail-oriented and quality-driven individual with strong language and layout skills to join the Assessment Development team as a Language Copy-editor.
\n\tThe ideal candidate should have extensive experience in language editing and document layout, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ NQF 4.
\n\tRelevant qualification in Language, Editing, Publishing, or related field (advantageous).
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in language copy-editing and layout.
\n\tExcellent proficiency in both English and Afrikaans (written and verbal).
\n\tStrong computer literacy.
\n\tExperience with document formatting, layout, and design.
\n\tStrong attention to detail with the ability to ensure consistency and accuracy.
\n\tGood organisational and time management skills.
\n\tInnovative thinking with the ability to improve layout and processes.<\/p>\n
DUTIES<\/p>\n
\tEdit and reword content to ensure clarity and correct meaning.
\n\tEnsure all texts comply with company style guides and standards.
\n\tMaintain consistency in language, terminology, spelling, capitalisation, abbreviations, and numerical expressions.
\n\tEnsure correct formatting, including typography, headings, page layout, tables, figures, and captions.
\n\tVerify accuracy of dates, facts, references, quotations, and hyperlinks.
\n\tEnsure alignment between study guides and facilitator guides, including answers to activities.
\n\tEnsure Afrikaans and English versions correspond accurately.
\n\tCheck completeness and correctness of bibliographic references and copyright compliance.
\n\tReview and adjust layouts, including text properties such as spacing, columns, and sizing.
\n\tEdit and integrate graphics, tables, and images into documents.
\n\tEnsure adherence to templates and provide input for improvements.
\n\tUpload and manage final layout documents.
\n\tMaintain overall quality standards of all assessments.<\/p>\n
