\tBidvest Tank Terminals has an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor. This opportunity exists within the Operations Department, based in Isando, reporting to the Terminal Manager. The candidate has to meet the following minimum criteria.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tOperations\/Production\/Engineering Diploma
\n\tMinimum 5 years operational experience
\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in a supervisory position
\n\tExperience in a chemical\/petrochemical environment would be advantageous
\n\tExperience in a Bulk Liquid Storage Facility\/ Terminal Operations
\n\tExperience in working within a unionized environment
\n\tGood understanding of SHEQ systems (OSHSA 18001, ISO14001, & ISO9001<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nMain purpose of the Job<\/p>\n
\tThe incumbent in this position will supervise all operational activities in accordance with the Bidvest Tank Terminals standards, procedures and work instructions, to ensure the safe, effective and efficient storage and handling of bulk liquids according to laid down customer quality specifications and requirements.<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will engage in the following activities:<\/p>\n
\tIdentify and debug problems in processes, products, equipment and work for solution
\n\tIdentify gap in SOP\/WI and other procedures
\n\tEnsure that operations equipment is optimised to improve operational efficiencies
\n\tConduct investigations from all operations incidents and writing of reports
\n\tPerform routine inspections to identify gaps and draw action plans to resolve the problems
\n\tMonitor vehicle loading\/offloading, transfers, drumming and other operations to identify dangerous and hazardous conditions
\n\tProvide cost-effective solutions for optimal terminal operation
\n\tMonitor the weekly maintenance plan (PM03, PM02, PM01) with the maintenance team
\n\tEnsure permits to work (PTW) are issued to Maintenance\/Projects
\n\tComplete effective handover (face-to-face) ensuring that all instructions, tasks and actions are clearly communicated to all relevant staff members
\n\tEnsure accurate tank gauging, review daily\/weekly and monthly stock adjusting dips and all measuring equipment is calibrated and in good working order
\n\tConduct regular daily sites walkabouts and ensure a high level of housekeeping is always maintained
\n\tEnsure the site Safety File inspections are always accurately completed, audited and sign-off
\n\tComplete on-the-job training for every employee based on the work instruction
\n\tComplete planned job observations (PJO) and ensure that any deviations are addressed, and\/or relevant amendments are made
\n\tPrepare sites for any planned project work
\n\tAssist with all MOC (Management of Change) requests (internal and external)
\n\tReport all SHE related incidents to line management
\n\tConduct regular site inspections, ensuring that all defects, unsafe conditions and near misses are reported and rectified within the agreed time frames
\n\tProvide input into the operations skill\u2019s development plan<\/p>\n
