PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tAn exciting opportunity exists within the Africa division to ensure the implementation of world-class SHEQ practices across all countries. The role will focus on the identification and elimination of risks within the work environment, the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses as well as the implementation of Fraser Alexander SHEQ standards.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Strategic Leadership<\/p>\n
\tDrive the strategic direction and continuous improvement of SHEQ management within the division.
\n\tDevelop, implement, and report on the implementation of divisional and group SHEQ objectives.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tEstablish and maintain SHEQ standards, policies, and procedures to meet internal, client and legal requirements.
\n\tOversee incident investigations, audits and risk assessments as well as the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
\n\tKeep up to date with SHEQ legislation and ensure compliance across all operations and countries within the division.<\/p>\n
Training and Development<\/p>\n
\tManage SHEQ awareness, compliance and training across the division.
\n\tEnsure ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 accreditation and certification are maintained.
\n\tPromote best practices and continuous learning.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tAdvise senior management on SHEQ legislation, best practices, and performance trends.
\n\tFoster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, regulatory authorities and service providers.
\n\tRegular and timeous communication of SHEQ matters to all stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree in SHEQ Management or equivalent.
\n\tPostgraduate degree in Business and People Management.
\n\tRegistration with relevant professional bodies.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tAt least 10 years of industry-related experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
\n\tAt least 5 years of experience holding a relevant legal appointment under the MHSA.
\n\tAn established safety network with key stakeholders in the mining industry.<\/p>\n
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED<\/p>\n
\tMust be in possession of a valid driver\u2019s license.
\n\tMust have a valid passport to meet travel requirements.
\n\tStrong leadership acumen.
\n\tThorough understanding of legislation and codes of practice related to SHEQ in all countries within the division.
\n\tStrong data analytics skills in SHEQ management.
\n\tRisk and change management.<\/p>\n
