The role is based in Boksburg and will report to the Engineering Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the role:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tThis position will provide hand on expertise and leadership of the engineering staff, operators and artisans and assistants ensuring the proactive maintenance, repair, and service of equipment within the production plant.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Problem Solving<\/p>\n<p>\tWhere problems have occurred during routine or planned maintenance activities, apply structured problem solving approach to resolve.<br \/>\n\tWhere required calls in additional resources to assist in problems solving or escalate to engineering manager \u00a0for direction.<br \/>\n\tAssist fellow team members to resolve problems on request.<br \/>\n\tTake part, as a functional expert, in RCAs \u00a0on request.<br \/>\n\tAssist artisans with Lost and Waste and provide on a weekly basis maintenance Lost and Waste to key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Project Management<\/p>\n<p>\tGives input to the Plant and Project Engineer on the feasibility of projects by analyzing technology, resources needs and market demands to ensure that project is feasible.<br \/>\n\tWorks with the Project Engineer to ensure that the requirements of internal customers are met and to prepare accurate project specification for implementation of projects.<\/p>\n<p>Effective Teamwork &amp; Self-Management<\/p>\n<p>\tTake ownership Pharmaceutical, Mechanical &amp; Electrical services industry<\/p>\n<p>Duties &amp; Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0Health &amp; Safety\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tResponsible for health and safety with regards to all equipment to ensure a safe environment to operate and work on for all staff.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the engineering \u00a0team adheres to the Siqalo safety policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tDrive compliance to the legal OSHA requirements within the scope of production plant<br \/>\n\tIdentify unsafe conditions in the production plant and ensure quick and effective resolution.<br \/>\n\tEnsure un-safe work-practices and behavior within the Production Plant \u00a0area are identified, documented, and resolved.<br \/>\n\tFollows up on requirements for compliance standards.<br \/>\n\tGovernance<br \/>\n\tEnsure that Siqalo ethical standards are adhered to by all personnel in the Utilities org structure and service providers employed by Siqalo.<br \/>\n\tReport and or escalate any areas of non-compliance appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>Production Plant Reliability<\/p>\n<p>\tDrive execution of routine preventative and predictive maintenance.<br \/>\n\tLead the development of maintenance standard maintenance procedures for Production Plant.<br \/>\n\tEnsure problem solving tools are used by the team and take part in problem solving sessions.<br \/>\n\tLead the development of the reliability plan for Production Plant \u00a0and ensure maintenance team has the required competencies.<br \/>\n\tDetermines material, equipment, and supplies to be used and ensure that these are ordered and available at the work site, in conjunction with the input of the asset care planner.<br \/>\n\tUses planned maintenance schedules to co-ordinates daily activities of artisans, machine operators and assistants.<br \/>\n\tDevelops a daily work schedule for all activities to be performed to ensure the smooth operation of the team, minimize downtime and overtime taking food safety imperatives into consideration.<br \/>\n\tSupervises and assigns maintenance work to contractors daily, ensuring clear allocation of responsibility and accountability.<br \/>\n\tControl daily job cards, by issuing to employees, receive back completed ones and verify work is done satisfactorily.<\/p>\n<p>Production Plant Optimization<\/p>\n<p>\tAnalyses Production Plant \u00a0performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.<br \/>\n\tIdentify and implement best in class cost saving initiatives within Production Plant.<br \/>\n\tEvaluate and implement performance improvement suggestion CAPEX projects within Production Plant.<br \/>\n\tEvaluate and sign off new equipment and all Production Plant modifications \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Engineering \u00a0Team Leadership<\/p>\n<p>\tManagement of the Maintenance \u00a0 team with regards to HR and IR issues.<br \/>\n\tManagement of the day-to-day activities and outputs of all team members across 4 shifts.<br \/>\n\tTrain and mentor Maintenance \u00a0team to improve performance and improve machine availability.<br \/>\n\tUtilize skills matrix to assess capability gaps within the team and to develop training plan in conjunction with HR development specialist to address skills gaps.<br \/>\n\tBe available on callout or to work on weekends or when necessary to ensure optimal performance of team and effective operation and maintenance of equipment.<br \/>\n\tArrange and lead daily meetings with staff and prepare inspection reports.<br \/>\n\tManages the maintenance and operations staff in terms to facilitate attainment of KPI\u2019s and monitor performance of individuals in attaining KPI\u2019s and institutes corrective action if necessary.<br \/>\n\tDrives company culture and morale within the team.<br \/>\n\tPartners with HR to recruit staff who are technically capable and fit in with company culture to ensure that team has the correct resources to maintain and operate the facility.<br \/>\n\tSupports and advises maintenance team \/ contractors and operators on the execution of their tasks.<br \/>\n\tPlan and manage leave roster and register.<br \/>\n\tPerforms work inspections and checks for completeness of tasks and compliance with legislative, SHEQ and in-house procedures.<br \/>\n\tMaintain discipline and standards in area of responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Budgets and Administration<\/p>\n<p>\tManagement of the maintenance spend against budget through daily review of budget vs. actual financial reports.<br \/>\n\tProvide input to the Engineering Manager to co-create and commit to an appropriate an engineering budget during the annual budgeting process.<br \/>\n\tAuthorizes stores requisitions and provide initial sign off of invoices prior to submission to Engineering Manager.<br \/>\n\tWork with the Engineering Manager \u00a0and planner to ensure accurate reporting.<br \/>\n\tCo-ordinate and sign off on the electricians\u2019 submission of all required documentation to the engineering planner for inclusion in Computerized Maintenance Management System( CMMS)\u2014Shopware.
