RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
The incumbent will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tThe curriculum development of and lecturing of modules in the programme(s) based in the department;
\n\tIn addition, the incumbent will pursue research activities such as own research, research-based publications and the supervision of postgraduate students registered in the department;\u00a0 \u00a0
\n\tDeveloping, presenting and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses for pre-service and in-service teachers and other students for contact and distance presentation;
\n\tMentoring students for teaching practice \/work-integrated learning;
\n\tUsing a learning management system to develop and present courses;
\n\tPresenting lectures and programmes in an E-learning environment;
\n\tProviding a significant contribution to research outputs, postgraduate teaching and supervision.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tMaster\u2019s degree in Education Leadership and Management;
\n\tEvidence of some research experience;
\n\t1-3 years teaching experience in Higher Education, for example, being a demonstrator or tutor or lecturer;
\n\tEvidence of some experience in community project
\n\tEvidence of some admin or managerial skills or leadership and commitment to ongoing professional development<\/p>\n
SENIOR LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tPhD in the field of Education Leadership and Management;
\n\tAt least three years of tertiary or related teaching experience;
\n\tAt least six accredited publications (journals, book chapters, Books) of which 4 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals, 1 publication should be sole-authored and evidence of conference papers;
\n\tAt least 3 students supervised to completion at Masters level;
\n\tCommunity engagement in a related field. Work-integrated involvement\/ mentorship;
\n\tExperience in academic administration and participation in departmental\/faculty committees<\/p>\n
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:<\/p>\n
LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tEnrolled for PhD or relevant equivalent postgraduate studies; mentoring \/coaching experience, working with large groups, strong communication skills
\n\tSuccessful module coordination;
\n\tAwards;
\n\tEvidence of current membership of relevant national and international scholarly\/professional bodies.
\n\tExperience in other subject areas in the department;
\n\tPrincipal investigator in research projects;
\n\tEvidence of coordination responsibilities and membership of committees.<\/p>\n
SENIOR LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in other subject areas in the department;
\n\tAwards.\u00a0
\n\tPrincipal investigator in research projects.
\n\tEvidence of coordination responsibilities and membership of committees;
\n\tProof of more\/sole-authored outputs under review, awards, peer recognition, evidence of obtained research funding, membership of national\/professional bodies, and an active Orcid-ID.<\/p>\n
