PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tTo provide technical and operational support to the Artisan in the daily maintenance of equipment and plant.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tSupport the Artisan in participating and executing predictive and preventive maintenance activities.
\n\tAssist Artisan in documenting maintenance work in the designated database.
\n\tAssist the Artisan in repairing and assembling various types of machines and equipment.
\n\tAssist the Artisan in stripping various machinery by using various types of tools disassembling components.
\n\tReact to breakdowns promptly
\n\tClean dirty parts and cleaning components as per Artisan instructions.
\n\tComplete tasks per issued job cards.
\n\tEnsure all tools and equipment are accounted for and maintained properly.<\/p>\n
Safety<\/p>\n
\tEnsure conformity to SHEQ standards, policies and procedures.
\n\tPerform general housekeeping duties including cleaning of workshop\u00a0\u00a0 machinery and equipment.
\n\tEnsure safekeeping of tools.<\/p>\n
Inspection and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tPerform daily inspections of all equipment\/tools and give feedback.
\n\tReport all faults and problems to Artisan.
\n\tPerform ad hoc tasks as and when required.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 passed with pure Mathematics 50% and Physical Science 50% pass;\u00a0\u00a0or
\n\tCompleted N3 certificate in Engineering Studies<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2 \u2013 4 years\u2019 experience working as an Engineering \/ Artisan Assistant preferably within the mining or construction environment
\n\tExposure in electrical, millwright or fitter maintenance environment will be advantageous
\n\tPractical experience in the use of handling of basic hand tools and workshop equipment
\n\tBasic understanding\u00a0 of hydraulic and\u00a0 lubrication systems, and mechanical seals.
\n\tExperience assisting with assembly and disassembly of mechanical components and equipment
\n\tExposure to pump and motor alignment and general mechanical maintenance\u00a0 activities<\/p>\n
