The purpose of the role:<\/p>\n
\tThe Hogan Mainframe Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting applications within the Hogan core banking environment. The role requires strong Hogan expertise, mainframe development experience, integration capabilities (z\/OS Connect, MQ, TPIPE), and proficiency with secure file transfer mechanisms such as FTP and related protocols. The incumbent will ensure the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of mission\u2011critical banking applications<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Hogan System Development & Support<\/p>\n
\tDevelop, enhance, and maintain applications within the Hogan suite (CIS, CAMS, IDS, ILP).
\n\tProvide production support, incident resolution, and performance optimization.<\/p>\n
Technical Analysis & Solution Design<\/p>\n
\tAnalyze requirements and translate them into robust technical designs.
\n\tConduct impact assessments on Hogan modules, batch processes, and integrated systems.
\n\tOffer SME expertise on Hogan structures, data layouts, and transaction workflows.<\/p>\n
Mainframe, Integration & File Transfer Development<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and support mainframe components using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
\n\tDesign and maintain APIs using the\u00a0z\/OS Connect API framework.
\n\tConfigure and support\u00a0IBM MQ\u00a0messaging structures and queues.
\n\tManage and maintain\u00a0TPIPE resources\u00a0for IMS transactional message handling.
\n\tImplement, automate, and troubleshoot file transfer methods such as\u00a0FTP, SFTP\u00a0 and other mainframe file movement protocols.
\n\tSupport integration, regression, and end\u2011to\u2011end testing.<\/p>\n
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with cross-functional teams including BA, QA, Architecture, Infrastructure, System owners and Operations.
\n\tProvide guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
\n\tParticipate in technical design forums and project planning sessions.<\/p>\n
Documentation & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tProduce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
\n\tEnsure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
\n\tMaintain accurate documentation for APIs, MQ setups, file transfer configurations, and Hogan components.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
Essential<\/p>\n
\t5-10 years hands-on experience with\u00a0Hogan core banking systems.
\n\tStrong knowledge of Hogan modules such as\u00a0CAMS, CIS, IDS, HOGAN Batch.<\/p>\n
Proficient in mainframe development:<\/p>\n
\tCOBOL
\n\tJCL
\n\tDB2 \/ SQL
\n\tVSAM
\n\tEndevor\u00a0(or similar version control)
\n\tExperience developing and integrating APIs using\u00a0z\/OS Connect.
\n\tExperience with\u00a0IBM MQ\u00a0(queues, channels, message flows).
\n\tWorking knowledge of\u00a0TPIPE\u00a0structures for IMS messaging.<\/p>\n
Experience with\u00a0file transfer technologies, including:<\/p>\n
\tFTP \/ FTPS \/ SFTP
\n\tMainframe dataset transfers (sequential, GDG, VSAM interactions)
\n\tExperience supporting high\u2011availability systems in financial services.<\/p>\n
Preferred<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of REST\/JSON integration patterns.
\n\tExperience with DevOps pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
\n\tBackground in banking domains such as deposits, lending, or customer information systems.
\n\tUnderstanding of enterprise integration patterns and modernization initiatives.<\/p>\n
