A well-established logistics and clearing company is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Clerk to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with strong customs knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and submit customs entries for imports and exports
\n\tEnsure all shipments comply with customs regulations and legislation
\n\tVerify and manage shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and manifests
\n\tApply correct tariff classifications and customs valuation
\n\tHandle customs stops, detentions, and inspections
\n\tLiaise with clients on import requirements such as permits and certificates of origin
\n\tManage refund processes where applicable
\n\tMaintain accurate records and provide general administrative support<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tMinimum 3 years’ experience in a customs clearing or similar role<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of:<\/p>\n
\tCustoms tariff classification
\n\tIncoterms
\n\tImport\/export processes
\n\tTrade agreements (e.g., SADC, EU)
\n\tExperience handling customs entries across multiple transport modes
\n\tGood computer literacy<\/p>\n
Preferred Experience<\/p>\n
\tExposure to customs systems (e.g., GTS or similar)
\n\tExperience in a high-volume clearing environment
\n\tStrong client engagement skills<\/p>\n
