Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tThe Expeditor ensures seamless execution of the transport schedule by tracking and tracing delivery vehicles, engaging with Planners, third-party transporters, Sasol Distribution Controllers, the Contact Centre, and Commercial & Mobility Account Managers etc. The role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, resolving deviations, and ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time, in full, and safely. The Expeditor also proactively addresses operational challenges, provides continuous updates to stakeholders, and contributes to process improvement through data analysis and effective root cause investigations. \u00a0This is a shift-based role (24\/6 with Sunday rotation) with a strong focus on safety and customer service.<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities
\nTransport Execution & Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tTrack and trace deliveries; engage with 3rd party transporters, Sasol Distribution Controllers, and the Contact Centre on deviations, incidents, or schedule changes.
\n\tCheck customer Automatic Tank Gaude (ATG) levels against scheduled orders to prevent Left on Boards (LOBs).
\n\tProactively manage 2-hourly updates from transporters, escalate delays, and arrange alternatives (replacement trucks, re-routes, gantry breakdowns, etc.).
\n\tEnsure continuous safety and operational decision-making during protests, incidents, or breakdowns to protect drivers, equipment, and product integrity.
\n\tCreate and manage drains when LOBs are redirected.
\n\tAmend shipments or trips for order cancellations, emergency requests etc.
\n\tEscalate customer site delays by involving relevant Key Account Managers.
\n\tManage updates and report via Schedule Management Tool (SMT).<\/p>\n
Queries & Issue Resolution<\/p>\n
\tHandle non-delivery, late delivery, cancellation, emergency order, and volume query escalations.
\n\tInvestigate and resolve customer complaints and provide prompt feedback.
\n\tParticipate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.<\/p>\n
Administration & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tResolve\/ manage error logs, open orders, drain orders, and update delivery volumes.
\n\tComplete all SAP\/ Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) \u00a0updates (vehicle changes, drains, re-plans, reroutes etc) before end of shift.
\n\tEnsure accurate and thorough shift handover, including safety issues, incidents, and operational challenges and critical information.
\n\tContribute to performance reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) monitoring.<\/p>\n
Fleet & Resource Adjustments<\/p>\n
\tManage truck changes due to breakdowns, driver availability, or delays.
\n\tEnsure smooth replacement planning to minimize delivery impact.<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in operational meetings and contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) \/work instructions (WI).
\n\tReview performance data and drive improvement.
\n\tSupport training and change management processes for expediting operations.<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tMinimum: Grade 12 with 3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in Expediting or Customer Demand Fulfilment or Logistics.
\n\tPreferred: Diploma in Logistics or equivalent.<\/p>\n
